Habs DOMINATE Islanders 5-1 – Halak the Man – Ottawa Loses 6-5 in OT

The Montreal Canadiens outshot the NY Islanders 43-22 in a dominating game at the Bell Centre last night.   Glen Metropolit is the man as he notched two assists.   Is it me or does this team simply play better in front of Jaroslav Halak? Scoring came from the right suspects, many of whom have been missing so far this season.

Habs goals were scored by Scott Gomez, Mike Cammallieri, Max Pacioretty, Max Lapierre, and Marc Bergeron.      This was a win I’m sure coach Martin and Bob Gainey are happy to have under their belt.

Ottawa lost a heart breaker in OT 6-5 at home to Nashville.   Ray Emery continued to win for Philadelphia 4-3 over Boston.   In other NHL scores, NJ doubled the Rangers on a pair of Zach Parise goals; Washington capped Atlanta 5-4 with no goals from Alex Ovechkin; Steve Stamkos scored 2 in TB’s 5-2 win over San Jose; Edmonton outscored Columbus 6-4; Phoenix clipped the Wings 3-2; and Anze Kopitar’s Hat Trick led the Kings to a 5-4 win over Dallas.
