Jay Leno Booted from Prime Time – Bumped up or out in many markets – January 11, 2010

NBC has bowed to pressure and bumped late night icon and car collector Jay Leno from their 10PM time slot.

“Mr. Gaspin said he hoped to move Leno to 11:35 p.m., “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien” to 12:05 a.m., and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to 1:05 a.m., but stressed that nothing had been settled.

“Jay and Conan and Jimmy were incredibly gracious and professional and they all said they understood a difficult problem,” Gaspin said, declining to give details.”

You know somebody is going to get fired for this one.  Gossip on the net is suggesting that Conan O’Brien may be considering a jump to Fox?

How relevant is late night anymore anyway?  Is this a reflection on Jay Leno or a reflection on poor network management?

I see a David Letterman Top Ten list or two coming out of this mess…..probably not aired on the show though.
