HABS Win 5-4 over Oilers – Leafs Win 4-3 over TB – Calgary Shuts Out Ottawa 2-0
Busy night for Hockey Fans in Canada. The Habs should’ve slicked back the Oilers, but held on to win in the shoot out. Andrei Markov led the way with 3 points and plus 2 for the evening, but the game should never have been this close.
Tomas Plekanec opened the scoring with his 20th of the year. Sergei Kostitsyn added another, as did Travis Moen and Brian Gionta. Jaroslav Halak picked up the win.
Ottawa fans got to witness their Sens get shut out by a hot Calgary squad. It was being billed up as a coaching duel as Cory Clouston is from Sutter land.
Jamal Mayers and Christopher Higgins hit the net for Calgary and Mikko Kiprusoff earned the shut out.
Leaf Fans got an overtime win thanks to heroics from Phil Kessel who scored his 23rd of his injury shortened season. Viktor Stalberg scored twice as well.
