Habs Blow Chance to Even Series – Michael Leighton gets 3rd Shut Out of Series – Philly up 3 Games to 1 – Cornwall Ontario – May 23, 2010

Cornwall ON – And then there were almost two…..  The Montreal Canadiens probably have ended their season with their shut out loss to Philadelphia.   Montrealers were abuzz after the Habs came back from two shut out losses with a stunning victory in game three.  You could actually feel the jump and buzz in the streets Saturday before game time.

It was called hope; hope that the magical mystery tour of this hockey season wasn’t about to end.   Sadly les Boys have turned ex-Hab Michael Leighton into a story as he recorded his third Shut out win of the series leaving Montreal down 3 games to 1 against a Philadelphia team that has no one named Thornton on it.

No shame though as The Habs have treated Hockey fans to an amazing and unexpected run this year.    Montreal has a “Core” to start with next year; something they really haven’t had in quite awhile and next year should be a much better season.

And the Chicago vs Philadelphia series should be a battle worth watching.
