Official Cornwall Police Release on St. Felix Weapons Incident – June 21, 2010

WEAPONS COMPLAINT

Cornwall ON – On June 18, 2010 at approximately 19:00 hrs the Cornwall Community Police Service were called to the 600 block of St. Felix St. in response to a weapons complaint. The Cornwall Community Police Emergency Response Team was deployed and two males were detained. They were subsequently released unconditionally.

In an attempt to ensure the citizens in the area remained safe, the Rapid Notify System was activated. Citizens were asked to remain in their residence until further notice. When the incident was completed another message was sent advising these citizens that they could return to their normal activities and apologized for the inconvenience.

The Rapid Notify Systems enable the Cornwall Community Police Service to contact specific areas or the entire City in case of emergencies.
