KOOL KIDS, KOOL TREATS Cornwall Ontario Police Partner with Local Dairy Queen – Free Ice Cream for Kids who wear their helmets! – July 2, 2010

Cornwall ON – The Cornwall Community Police Service in partnership with Dairy Queen once again are launching the “Kool Kids, Kool Treats” program.  Dairy Queen has graciously provided the Cornwall Community Police Service with vouchers for free Dairy Queen treats.  When bicycle officers are out on patrol and they observe children wearing their helmets and following the safety rules, they will be awarded a treat voucher.

It is estimated that 50% of head injuries with cyclists are as a result of a fall and as a reminder everyone under the age of 18 years must wear their helmets at all times.

Did you know that the Cornwall Community Police Service has an on-line bicycle registration for residents of the City of Cornwall?  The link is located on our webpage at www.cornwallpolice.com

The Cornwall Community Police Service reminds all drivers to be mindful of cyclists and further reminds cyclists to be aware of traffic and to have a safe summer.  Always committed to our vision “A Safer Cornwall, Reducing Crime Always.”
