Rare One of Kind 1953 Ford Crestliner Convertible Discovered in Chateaugay NY – August 1, 2010

Chateaugay NY – Vance Smith thought he was just buying out an estate of used cars.  He pulled carcasses of old Fords, Chryslers, Chevy’s, and even a rare body of a 1932 Mercedes SSK.

What looked like a 53 Ford Crown Victoria turned out to be a one of a kind find.    This 1953 Ford Crown Victoria Crestliner convertible was a dealer show room model and what looks like to be the only one of its kind in existence.   It starts and runs too.

The hood has a transparent opening so that the new in 1953 engine could be scene and has a Continental kit which was a dealer option too.

Mr. Smith who runs an Autobody shop and scrap yard isn’t sure what he’s going to do with his find yet and continues to pull other vehicles from his treasure trove including a 1962 Dodge which looks to be something between a van and a pick up truck.

Some people buy lottery tickets and some find rare hidden gems from decades ago.   To find out more about this amazing find you can contact Vance at 518.497.3128.
