Habs Lose 2-1 in OT to Buffalo – Sens Lose, Canucks, Lose, Oilers Lose – NHL SCORES – January 19, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The Habs haggled a loss tonight against the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo losing 2-1 in Over Time.   David Desharnais scored the lone Montreal goal.  It was an ugly kind of game with Matt Darche nearly getting 20 minutes of ice time.

I like Matt, but if he’s getting that much time the GM better start working the phones.   Mike Cammalleri left the game after only playing  a few minutes with what’s being called an upper body injury.  It’s been a rough year for number 13 after a good start.

Buffalo out shot Montreal 39-31.  A few good bounces could’ve changed the game for both teams.

Ottawa lost a nail biter 2-1 in the shoot out to Anaheim, and Boston stretched their lead over Montreal by beating Carolina again3-2; Philly beat Washington 3-2; Pittsburgh pecked the Wings 4-1;    Tampa got a much needed win over Columbus 3-2; St. Louis crowned the Kings 2-1; Colorado edged Vancouver 4-3; Nashville scored early and often beating Phoenix 5-2; and Minnesota defeated Edmonton 4-1.

A lot of trade buzz, but other than Ben Eager moving over from Atlanta to San Jose for a 5th and St. Louis losing Kyle Wellwood on waivers not much is happening.   Read about Simmonds being sniffed by the Habs and that would be a very interesting player to be inserted into this teams template.  Interesting indeed.   Now what would it take to get him is the big question???
