FRAUD

Cornwall, Ont. – Vandra Gabriel, 21, of No Fixed Address was arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 for several counts of Fraud.  It is alleged that on the 09th of February, she attended a financial institution and presented false documents to open a bank account.  On February 11th, police allege that she entered two other financial institutions with the same intention.  Police were contacted and an investigation into the matter has resulted in the female facing 2 counts each of Personation, Utter forged documents and Fraud Under $5,000.00.  She was held in custody until court.

BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Ronald Paul Boots, 54, of Akwesasne was arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Probation Order with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Not leave his residence if he had consumed alcohol in the past 24 hours.  Police allege that they located the male outside a Montreal Road motel under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation and later released to appear in court on the 08th of March, 2011.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – A 15 year-old Snye Quebec youth and a 16 year-old St-Regis Quebec youth were arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 for breaching their conditions.  The youths were bound by Undertaking Orders with conditions of No contact with each other.  It is alleged that they were located in the company of each other while entering Canada through the Cornwall Point of Entry.  The youths were arrested by a member of the Canada Border Services Agency and detained until the arrival of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  The youths each face 1 count of Breach of Undertaking and were released to the custody of a parent.  Their names are withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ESCAPE LAWFUL CUSTODY and BREACH OF PROBATION

Cornwall, Ont. – Joshua Tilley, 18, of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 following a motor vehicle collision.  The male was bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Further, the male was suspended from driving and police allege that he struck a light standard while operating a motor vehicle.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  While police were attempting to arrest the male, he fled the area on foot and was located and arrested by police following a short foot pursuit. .  The male is facing numerous Highway Traffic Act charges, 1 count of Breach of Probation and 1 count of Escape Lawful Custody. He was released to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

BREACH OF UNDERTAKING

Cornwall, Ont. – Curtis Douglas Manley, 42, of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a condition to Notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of any change of address within 24 hours, to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Police attended an east end residence to respond to a 9-1-1 call and located the male under the influence of alcohol.  Further, police learned that the male had failed to notify his change of address.  The male was arrested for 3 counts of Breach of Undertaking and was released to appear in court on the 08th of March, 2011.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE, BENCH WARRANT and THEFT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 14 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 12th of February, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  The young person was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to reside at a group home, to abide by the house rules and to not be away from the residence.  On February 7th, it is alleged that he left the group home.  Police were contacted and an investigation commenced.  It is further alleged that the youth failed to attend court on the 09th of February and a bench warrant was granted.  On the 11th of February, police also allege that the youth entered his family owned business and stole money from the cash register.  On the 12th of February, the youth was located at an east end residence by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service and arrested on the strength of the bench warrant.  He is further facing 5 counts of Breach of Recognizance and 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00.  He was held in custody until court.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating a break and enter which occurred sometime between 03:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on the 05th of February, 2011 at a Second Street West residence.  The suspect(s) gained access by prying open a door.  The suspect(s) stole some medication and a digital camcorder.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

THEFT and BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Laura Pauline St. Louis, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of February, 2011 following a shoplifting incident.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Not be away from her residence.  It is alleged that on the offence date, she attended a Water Street grocery stole and stole merchandise.  She was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer until the arrival of a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service.  She is facing 1 count of Theft Under $5,000.00 and 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance.  She was held in custody until court.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, Ont. – A 33 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 12th of February, 2011 following a domestic disturbance investigation.  It is alleged that during an argument with his 36 year-old wife, he grabbed her arm and hair.  The victim did not require medical attention for her injuries at the time of the incident.  Police were contacted and he is facing 1 count of Assault.  He was held in custody until court the following day. His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

THREATS

Cornwall, Ont. – A 47 year-old Cornwall female was arrested on the 13th of February, 2011 following a threats investigation.  On February 11th, it is alleged that she uttered a death threat to her 58 year-old ex-husband at a Cornwall courthouse.  Police were contacted and an investigation resulted in the female facing 1 count of Utter a death threat.  She was released to appear in court on the 01st of March, 2011 to answer to the charge.  Her name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – Delcarmen Guzman, 40, of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of February, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Recognizance Order with a condition to Not be away from her residence unless in the presence of her surety.  She was further bound by a Probation Order with a condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  It is alleged that on the offence date, the female had left her residence without the company of her surety.  Police were contacted and she is facing 1 count each of Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody until court the following day.

BREACHES

Cornwall, Ont. – A 35 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 13th of February, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  Police were contacted to attend an east end residence to investigate a domestic disturbance.  The male was bound by 2 separate Probation Orders with conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour and to Abstain from the consumption of alcohol.  It is alleged that the male left his girlfriend’s residence in a motor vehicle prior to police arrival.  A member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.  It is alleged that the male was located operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Following the investigation, the male was arrested for 2 counts of Breach of Probation.  He is scheduled to appear in court on the 08th of March, 2011 to answer to the charges.  His name is not being released.

BREAK AND ENTER

Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service is investigating 2 break and enters which occurred sometime in November 2010 and the other in February 2011.  The suspect(s) entered a storage building and stole a blue and white 1987 GMC pickup tailgate, a 5000 watt Generac Generator, a 230 volt Champion Mig welder and a 110 volt compressor.  If you have any information regarding this break and enter, please contact the Service by dialing (613) 932-2110.

CHARGES LAID

(South Glengarry) – On 13Feb11, at approximately 4:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Nine Mile Road, South Glengarry Township.

At approximately 5:00am SD&G OPP officers observed a White Volkswagen in the east ditch on Nine Mile Road south of Martintown, On.

The investigation revealed that the 19yr old male driver was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. While dealing with the 19yr old male police were advised of a mischief that had occurred in the village of Martintown.

The complainant advised police that a white station wagon was seen in the area just after discovering damage that had been done to silver 2004 Hyundai that was parked on Grant St, Martintown, On.

Further investigation revealed that the 19yr old male driver (Christopher SENDAO of County Road 18, South Glengarry Township) and his 19yr old male passenger (Joel CHARRON of Nine Mile Road, South Glengarry Township) had done the damage to the parked vehicle.

The male driver was arrested and faces charge of:

  • Mischief Over $5,000
  • Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle
  • Exceed 80mgs / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 03Mar2011 in Cornwall court.

The male passenger faces a charge of:

  • Mischief Over $5,000

He is scheduled to appear 15Mar2011 in Cornwall court.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Glengarry)  – On 14Feb11, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to check a vehicle on North Service Road, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that the 33yr old female driver (Johanne LALONDE of County Road 34, Champlain Township) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces a charge of:

  • Exceed 80mgs / motor Vehicle

She is scheduled to appear 02Mar11 in Alexandria court.

CHARGES LAID
(South Dundas) – On 13Feb11, at approximately 5:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to an incident on Grove St. Iroquois, On.

The investigation revealed that a 26yr old male was involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting a male family member.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Assault
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Assault Peace Officer with Weapon or Cause Bodily Harm
  • Mischief

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
