Mikhail Grabovski Leads Leaf to 3-2 Win over Penguins – Still 4 Points Behind Carolina NHL Scores – March 3, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON –  Mikhail Grabovski is an interesting NHLer.   The diminutive 5th round Habs draft pick who has a penchant for physically attacking his own team mates has clawed and scratched his way to being the number one centre on the Leafs.

He scored the winner Wednesday as the Leafs beat the Penguins 3-2 and has become a top line centre.  Not the best, but definitely a top line centre.   It’s also funny that Leafs GM Brian Burke is holding onto Grabvoski as he’s not known for his love of non US or Canadian players.

He actually had three more shifts than Phil Kessel and looks like he may be a mainstay on this evolving Leafs squad who are in the chase for the 8th play off spot; 4 points behind Carolina.

New Jersey keeps winning too, this time 2-1 over Tampa bay;  Islanders 4 Minnesota 1; Chicago out gunned Calgary 6-4; and Anaheim beat Detroit 2-1 in Overtime.

What do you think Leafs Nation?  Is Number 84 a keeper?  You can post your comments below.
