Cornwall ON – Here is your police blotter for Cornwall Ontario and the area for Tuesday March 15, 2011.

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

Cornwall, Ont. – A 23 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 14th of March, 2011 for breaching his conditions.  He was bound by a Recognizance Order with the following conditions:  to Abstain from communicating with a specific female, to abide by a curfew, to not attend her residence and to Keep the Peace the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  On the previous day, it is alleged that the male had contact with the 18 year-old female, thus breaching his conditions.  He was arrested for 4 counts of Breach of Recognizance and was held in custody until court.  His name is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

 

BREACH OF CONDITIONAL SENTENCE ORDER

Cornwall, Ont. – Nathalie Monique Chartrand, 31, of Cornwall was arrested on the 14th of March, 2011 for breaching her conditions.  She was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order with a condition to abide by a curfew and to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour.  Police allege that she was located walking on Pitt Street past her curfew.  She was arrested and held in custody until court the following day.

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON- A 32 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 11th of March, 2011 for assault. It is alleged that on the 27th of February 2011, heused inappropriate physical discipline on his 8 year-old daughter. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged and released to appear in court on the 5th of April, 2011. His name was not released as it may identify the victim.

 

BREACH

Cornwall, ON- Raoul Saucier, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of March, 2011. He was bound by an Recognizance of Bail with the condition of not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with a certain male. It is alleged that while on general patrol, a Cornwall police member observed him walking with the said male on Cumberland Street. He was charged with breach of Recognizance and held for court later the same day.

 

Cornwall, ON- Laura Green, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of March, 2011. She was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. It is alleged shortly before midnight on the 11th of March, 2011, she approached a Cornwall Police member and was subsequently arrested for breaching her conditions. She was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation. She was released to appear in court on the 29th of March, 2011.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 16 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 12th of March, 2011.  The youth was bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition not to have any contact with another youth. It is alleged that he was located by police walking on Marlborough Street with the said youth. He was charged with breach of Probation Order and was released to his mother with a court date on the 21st of April, 2011. His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON- A 15 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 12th of March, 2011. The youth was bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abide by a curfew of 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. It is alleged that on the 12thof March, 2011, at 10:40 hrs, while on general patrol a member of the Cornwall police located the youth intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with 2 counts of breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking and released to his mother with a court date of 31st of March, 2011.  His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON- Jason Gallai, 24 of Laval Quebec, was arrested on the 13th of March, 2011. He was bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking with the relevant conditions to notify Cornwall Police within 24 hours in writing of any change of address as well as keep the peace and be of good behaviour. On the 3rd of March, 2011, an investigation revealed that he had moved and failed to notify police of his charge of address. On the 13th of March, 2011, he attended police headquarters and was arrested for 2 counts of breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on the 5th of April, 2011.

 

BREACH & DRUGS

Cornwall, ON- Patrick Grant, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on the 12th of March, 2011. He was bound by an Officer in Charge Undertaking with the pertinent conditions to abstain from communicating with persons known to have a criminal record, not to possess cell phones, and not to be in possession of any controlled substances without prescription. It is alleged that while on general patrol a member of the Cornwall police located the male in the presence of someone with a criminal record. Upon his arrest, police located a cell phone and a small beige baggie that contained a white powder hard substance believed to be cocaine. He was charged for 3 counts of breach of Officer in Charge Undertaking and Possession of a Controlled Substance- cocaine. He was released to appear in court on the 19th of April, 2011, to answer to the charges.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- An 18 year-old Cornwall male was arrested on the 11th of March, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding Order for Committal (Surety Warrant). It is alleged that his surety revoked and a warrant was issued. Police located the male and the warrant was executed. The male was held in custody until court the following day. His name is withheld due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON- Cameron Goudy, 44 of Maxville Ontario was arrested on the 12th of March, 2011, under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on the 28th of September, 2010, he rented a U-HAUL truck and failed to return it on the 30th of September, 2010. Police were contacted and the vehicle was reported stolen. On the 28th of November, 2010, the vehicle was recovered and a warrant was issued for Theft over $5000.00. On the 12th of March, 2011, the male turned himself over to police and the warrant was executed. He was released to appear in court on the 29th of March, 2011.

 

THREATS & CRIMINAL HARRASSMENT

Cornwall, ON- Joshua James, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of March, 2011. It is alleged that on the 12th and 13th of March,  2011, he uttered death threats to 2 acquaintances and repeatedly contacted them by text messages. Police were contacted and investigation followed. He was charged with 4 counts of Uttering Death Threats and Criminal Harassment. He was held in custody until court the following day.

Charges Laid

(South Dundas, ON.) – On March 14, at approximately 9:47pm, an SD&G OPP officer was on general patrol in the village of Iroquois located in South Dundas Township.
The officer observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop.  The officer while speaking with the driver detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.

The male, Philip Perkins (22 years from South Dundas) was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired operation of motor vehicle
  • Exceed 80 milligrams of alcohol

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall Criminal Court to answer to the charges on March 29, 2011.

Charges Laid

(North Glengarry, ON.) –  On March 11, 2011 at approximately 4:27pm, SD&G OPP officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute between two parties in a common law relationship who reside on Center St. in the Town of Alexandria, located in North Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that the female and her common law husband had over the last year got into several verbal arguments which on two occasions escalated to physical altercation.
The male (23 years old from Alexandria)  was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Assault x2
  • Forcible confinement
  • Utter threats to cause death or bodily harm

The male was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall Criminal court on April 12.
The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

(South Dundas, ON.)-  On March 11, 2011 at approximately 9:55pm, SD&G OPP officers were dispatched to a fight in progress on Fifth St. located in the village of Morrisburg, South Dundas Township.
The investigation revealed that a 17 year old male was walking along Fifth St to meet with his girlfriend when confronted by a group of teens.  A verbal argument started which escalated to a physical confrontation between 2 males.
A 16 year old male youth was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Assault

The youth was released on a Promise to Appear in Morrisburg Criminal Court on May 10, 2011 to answer to the charge.

R.I.D.E. Program nets Charges
(South Stormont, ON.)-  On March 11 at 10:49pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program at the corner of O’Keefe Rd and Myers Road located in South Stormont Township.
Police had occasion to stop a male driver at the program.  The investigation revealed that the male had allegedly consumed an alcoholic beverage.
The male, Garry Barcier (49 years old) from St. Andrews was arrested and faces charges of:

  • Impaired Operation
  • Exceed 80 milligrams of alcohol

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall Criminal Court on March 24 to answer to the charges.
