CFN – Here is your Police Blotter for the Cornwall Ontario area for Wednesday September 21, 2011.

THEFT UNDER $5000.00

 

            Cornwall, ON- John Sabourin, 37, Daniel Roschaert, 24 and Melissa Scoot, 24, all from Cornwall were arrested on the 20th of September, 2011. It is alleged that on the 20th of September, 2011 the three individuals stole a donation box from a local convenience store. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. They were charged with Theft Under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 4th of October, 2011 to answer to the charge.

 

THREATS & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 20th of September, 2011. The youth was bound by two Undertakings both with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. The youth was also bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to reside at a certain address and abide by the rules of that residence. It is alleged that on the 20th of September, 2011 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the youth returned to the group home under the influence of alcohol and uttered threats to cause death to the staff. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Utter Threats to Cause Death, 2 counts of Breach of Undertaking and breach of Recognizance. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youths name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

BREACH OF RECOGNIZANCE

 

            Cornwall, ON- Chantel Wolfe, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 21st of September, 2011. She was bound by a Recognizance with the condition of not to consume alcohol. She was also bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that shortly prior to 2:30 a.m. on the 21st of September, 2011. She was observed by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be walking on Montreal Road while being under the influence of alcohol. She was charged with Breach of Recognizance and breach of Probation Order. She was released to appear in court on the 6th of October, 2011 to answer to the charges.

DOMESTIC BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 36 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 19th of September, 2011. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was also bound by a Recognizance and a Non-Communication Order with the relevant conditions of not to associate or communicate directly or indirectly with his 32 year-old girlfriend. It is alleged that on the 17th of September, 2011 he sent 4 letters to his 32 year-old girlfriend. He was charged with 2 counts of Recognizance and breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

THEFT, OBSTRUCT POLICE AND BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Alicia Cook, 24 of Akwesasne was arrested on the 19th of September, 2011. She was bound by an Undertaking with the relevant condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on the 19th of September, 2011 she attended a Brookdale Avenue store and stole merchandise. She was detained by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer, turned over to the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division when she provided a false name. She was charged with Theft Under $5000.00, Obstruct Police and Breach of Undertaking. She was released to appear in court on the 4th of October, 2011.

 

UTTER THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- James Cochrane, 42 of Ottawa was arrested on the 19th of September, 2011. It is alleged that on the 15th of August 2011 he threaten a 41 year-old man stranger. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Uttering Threat to Cause Death and released to appear in court on the 4th of October, 2011.

ASSAULT CHARGES LAID

(North Stormont, On.) –  On September 18th approximately 10:42am, SD&G OPP officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance on Rush City Road in North Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that a 28 year old male and 24 year old female had been in a common law relationship over the last 5 years.  On this date, the parties engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation.
The 24 year old female was arrested and faces charges of;

  • Assault

The female was released on a Promise to Appear in Cornwall Criminal Court on October 18.
