ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, WEAPONS DANGEROUS & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 26th, 2012. The youth was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Goof behaviour. It is alleged that on July 26th, 2012 the youth returned to his residence and threaten a 32-year-old male Group home staff member with a knife. The victim was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Breach of Probation Order. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

FIREARM, BREACH & THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jaimee Lee Square, 32 of Akwesasne was arrested on July 26th, 2012. She was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to not possess any firearm, cross bow, weapons, ammo, explosives. It is alleged that on July 26th, 2012 she attended a 40-year-old female acquaintance’s residence and threatened her while having in her possession a firearm. The victim was not physically injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Point Firearm, Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a firearm, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of Firearm and Utter Threat to Cause Death. She was held in custody until court the following day.

FRAUD & FORGED DOCUMENTS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Heather Adams, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on July 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on April 11th and 14th, 2012 she attended a financial institute and uttered forged cheques. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 2 counts of Fraud under $5000.00 and 2 counts of Utter Forged Documents. She was released to appear in court on August 28th, 2012.

 

DRUGS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Robert Tessier, 62 of Cornwall was arrested on July 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2012 he was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit in possession of a controlled substance believed to be cocaine. He was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Crack Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Crack Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The total value of the seized drugs and property is estimated at $750.00. He was released to appear in court on August 28th, 2012.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on July 25th, 2012. He was bound by 2 Undertakings with the relevant condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2012 that while intoxicated, he got into an altercation with his 24-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, RESIST ARREST & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on July 25th, 2012. The youth was bound by an Undertaking with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2012 the youth got into an altercation with an 18-year-old female acquaintance when she assaulted her and damaged property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon her arrest she resisted arrest. The youth was charged with Assault, Mischief under $5000.00, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Resist Arrest. She was released to an adult to appear in court on August 23th, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

ROBBERY, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, CARRYING CONCEALED WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON- Timothy Paul Lapierre, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on July 25th, 2012. It is alleged that on July 25th, 2012 shortly after 10:00 p.m., he approached an 18-year-old male, a 17-year-old female and a 20-year-old female near the boat launch. He proceeded to take out a knife and threaten the three victims while stating that he was taking the 18-year-old’s man’s motor vehicle. Police were contacted and he fled the area. He was located by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division and charged with 3 counts of Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapons for Dangerous Purpose, Carrying a concealed weapon and Robbery with intent. The victims did not require medical treatment. He was held in custody until court the following day.

BAIL VIOLATIONS

(North Glengarry) – On July 24, 2012 at approximately 1:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a female in contravention of conditions (non communication) set from a previous police investigated incident. The female attended her ex-spouses place of work located on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township.

The 19year old female from North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking (2 counts)

She was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall today, 24Jul12.
ASSAULTS

(South Stormont) – On July 24, 2012 at approximately 2:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic assault which had occurred at a campsite at Farran Park, South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed that an altercation between a male and his spouse resulted in the female being assaulted.

The 43year old male from Cornwall was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on July 31, 2012.
(North Glengarry) – On July 24, 2012 at approximately 9:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to intercept a vehicle on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township. The male driver was identified as a suspect in an assault investigation from an incident on July 17, 2012. It is alleged the male was in an altercation with another male resulting in him throwing a hair brush at the victim’s vehicle resulting in the rear window being smashed.

As officers dealt with the suspect, he became resistant and verbally abusive. He was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault with a Weapon (17Jul12)
– Mischief to Property under $5000.00 (17Jul12)
– Resist Arrest (24Jul12)

He was released and scheduled to appear in Alexandria court on September 5, 2012.

DRUGS SEIZED AT RIDE SPOTCHECK

(North Stormont) – On July 25, 2012 at approximately 12:30am, SD&G OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spotcheck at the intersection of County Roads 12 &13, North Stormont Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana from inside.

The male driver, Chad HUNTER (31) of North Stormont was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on September 4, 2012.

 

HIGH SPEEDS – VEHICLE SEIZED

(North Glengarry) – On July 24, 2012 at approximately 1:00pm, an SD&G OPP officer was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township. He had the occasion to stop a vehicle traveling 156km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

The 36year old male driver, from Chateauguay QC is charged with;

– Race a Motor Vehicle

He is to appear in Cornwall court at a later date. The vehicle and his drivers licence were seized as per legislation.
