A Wet Long Sault Farmer’s Market Report for August 10, 2012 by Reg Coffey

A Wet Day At The Long Sault Market

CFN – There was an unusual event at the Long Sault Farmer’s Market yesterday. It rained. It rained and a steady stream of people still came out to the market to buy their corn and blueberries and baked goods and Thai food and coffee. I must admit that the wet and cooler weather was good for my coffee business.

This week we do not have a new vendor to highlight. We do have more vendors waiting to set up at our market but I think they may have postponed their initial appearance for a drier day. You can only make a first impression once.

Rainy Day Shoppers

I have received some constructive criticism this past week about my pictures. Apparently I have been focussing too much on the vendors and some readers would prefer to see more pictures of the shoppers. I tried to remedy that this weekend but I was so busy I could only shoot from my booth between customers.

In spite of the drought the crops keep coming in and every week there is more produce available at the market. The bakers and canned goods vendors have lots of product for you to choose from and of course there is the delicious Thai food from Thai to Go and fresh roasted coffee from yours truly. We have more vendors waiting to start up but you will have to come to the market to see who it is and what they are selling. The market is open rain or shine every Friday afternoon at the Long Sault Shopping Centre from 2 – 6 PM.

I hope to see you there.
