Police Blotter for the Cornwall Ontario Area for Monday August 20, 2012

THEFT & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Steve Coleman, 28 of Cornwall was arrested twice on August 17th, 2012. He was bound by two Probation Orders with the conditions of Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was also bound by two Undertakings with the conditions of Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 17th, 2012 he attended a Brookdale Avenue store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Theft under $5000, Breach of Probation Order and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on September 18th, 2012. Later on the same day, it is also alleged that he attended a Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. He was detained by the store’s lost prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order, 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Theft under $5000. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

Cornwall, ON- Jason Tyrell, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. He was also bound by 2 Undertakings with the relevant conditions of Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 18th, 2012 he attended a Second Street East Store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Theft under $5000, Breach of Probation Order and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DRUGS & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Peter Chilcig, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on August 13th, 2012. He was bound by an Undertaking with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 13th, 2012 members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit found him to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be hydromorphone. He was charged with Possession of a controlled substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. The total value of seized drugs and property is estimated at $500. He was released to appear in court on September 18th, 2012.

 

BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- Lenka Precechtel, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2012. She was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions of not to be away from her residence between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. except with surety and to be alcohol free for eight hours before leaving the residence. She was also bound by a Probation Order with the relevant condition of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on August 18th, 2012 shortly after 1:00 a.m. she was found under the influence of alcohol by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. She was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. She was held in custody until court later that day.

Cornwall, ON- Alfred Papineau, 30 of Hogansburg, New York, was arrested on August 19th, 2012. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to abstain from consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on August 19th, 2012 he attended the Canadian Border Service Agency while being under the influence of alcohol. He was detained by a member of the Canadian Border Service Agency and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and held in custody until court the later that day.

THEFT & MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON- Harold Fisher, 32 and Shawn Haylock, 43 both of Cornwall were arrested on August 18th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 18th, 2012 while at a York Street facility caused damage to donation drop off bins and removed property from them. Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division found them and charged them with Theft under $5000 and Mischief under $5000. They were released to appear in court on September 25th, 2012.

DRIVE WHILE DISQUALIFIED

            Cornwall, ON- A 18-year-old Akwesasne female was arrested on August 18th, 2012. She had 2 outstanding driving suspensions for Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle and 1 for Flight from Police. It is alleged that on August 18th, 2012 she attended the Canadian Border Agency Service where she was detained for the outstanding suspensions. She was turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division and charged with 3 counts of Drive While Disqualified. She was released to appear in court on October 9th, 2012. Her name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

THEFT

            Cornwall, ON- Kevin Smith, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on August 18th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 18th, 2012 he attended a Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. He was detained by the store’s Lost Prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with Theft under $5000 and released to appear in court on September 18th, 2012.

MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON- Amy Major, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on August 19th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 19th, 2012 she caused damage to a taxi cabs windshield. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Mischief under $5000 and released to appear in court on September 25th, 2012.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON- A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 20th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 20th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 30-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

(North Stormont) – On 19Aug12, at approximately 3:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on County Road 13, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 21yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Breach of Probation Order

She is scheduled to appear 11Sept12 in Cornwall court.

 

(South Stormont) – On 19Aug12, at approximately 7:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Cornwall Center Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her ex-boyfriend became involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting her and a male friend.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Assault with A Weapon
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
– Trespass/Prowl near dwelling house
– Mischief Under $5,000

The 29yr old male was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

 

(South Stormont) – On 18Aug12, at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Willy Allen Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 38yr old husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault x2
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
FAMILY DISPUTE

(North Dundas) – On 17Aug12, at approximately 7:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute on Baker Road, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 17yr old youth was involved in a verbal altercation with another male family member that resulted in the youth damaging the residence and assaulting the male.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Utter Threat to Damage Property

He is scheduled to appear 02Oct12 in Morrisburg court.
(North Glengarry) – On 17Aug12, at approximately 3:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a male breaching his earlier release conditions on Marcoux Road, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a 47yr old male had attempted to contact a female that he was not to have any contact with.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance.

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 17Aug12, at approximately 4:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 28yr old male driver (Lukasz PIASECKI of London On) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 25Sept12 in Cornwall court.
IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On 18Aug12, at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Main St. Lancaster On.

The stop revealed that the 22yr old male driver (Simon LAFLECHE-MARQUIS of Longueil, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 03Oct12 in Alexandria court.
STOLEN VEHICLE

(South Glengarry) – On 17Aug12, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Gilmore Road, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 12:00am – 2:30am unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a red 1999 Ford F1 pick-up from a driveway.

The investigation is ongoing.
