FRAUD

 

            Cornwall, ON- Jarod Burd, 36 of Cornwall was arrested on August 29th, 2012. It is alleged that between July 21st and 28th, 2012 he attended a local bank, deposited empty envelopes and withdrew money unlawfully. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 3 counts of Fraud under $5000 and released to appear in court on October 9th, 2012.

 

FAIL TO COMPLY

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 30th, 2012. The youth was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to not be away from residence. It is alleged that on August 20th, 2012 she left her residence and failed to returned. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Fail to Comply Recognizance and held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & THREATS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 67-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 29th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 29th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 52-year-old common-law wife when he assaulted and threaten her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assaulted and Utter Death Threat. He was released to appear in court on September 11th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- Shawn Haylock, 43 of Cornwall was arrested on August 30th, 2012. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of a curfew to be in your place of residence from 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM and Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 30th, 2012 shortly prior to 3:45 AM he was located away from his residence by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking and released to appear in court on September 25th, 2012.

 

WEAPON DANGEROUS, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, MISCHIEF, THREATS AND BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- Frederick Renshaw, 47 of Cornwall was arrested on August 29th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abstain from owning, possessing or carrying a weapon. It is alleged that between August 15th and 28th, 2012 he got into an altercation with a 39-year-old male acquaintance when he threaten him while holding a knife. It is also alleged that on August 29th, 2012 he once again approached the said male and threaten him while holding a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Possession of Weapons Dangerous, 2 counts of Assault with a Weapon, 2 counts of Threats to cause death, Mischief, 4 counts of Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

FRAUD

 

            Cornwall, ON- Yasmine Yansane, 22 of Montreal, Quebec, was arrested on August 29th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 29th, 2012 she attended a Second Street Store and attempted to purchase items with fraudulent credit cards. She was detained by the store’s loss prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. She was charged with Fraud under $5000, 2 counts of Possess credit card data and 2 counts of Possession of Forged credit cards. She was held in custody until court the following day.

MISCHIEF

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 28th, 2012. The youth was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant condition to provide an address within 48 hours to Cornwall Community Police Service and then abide by the rules of that residence. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2012 he damaged property and failed to follow house rules. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with 2 counts of Mischief and 1 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

SHOPTHEFT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on August 28th, 2012. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2012 the youth attended a Second Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the items. The youth was detained by the store’s loss prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. The youth was charged with Theft under $5000 and released to an adult to appear in court on October 4th, 2012. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 28th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order and an Undertaking with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 22-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her and threaten her with a wooden stick. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Breach of Probation Order and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

BREAK & ENTER

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on August 28th , 2012 at an Emma Avenue residence. The suspect(s) gained partial entry by cutting the screen of a window and obtaining keys for an Ebike. The Ebike is described as a Ebike Ninja, red in colour. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on August 28th , 2012 at a Walton Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by an unlocked window and removed a safe box and a container containing an undisclosed amount of money. (South Stormont) – On 29Aug12, at approximately 10:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Quail Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a 49yr old female was breaching her earlier release conditions.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge x3

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
STOLEN VEHCILE

(South Glengarry) – On 30Aug12, at approximately 7:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Boisvenue Drive, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a Silver Saturn from the driveway.

The investigation is ongoing.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Family Dispute 2012-08-29

(South Dundas) – On 28Aug12, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute on Church Ave, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 47yr old male was in a verbal altercation with another male family member that resulted in the 47yr old male threatening him.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear 02Oct12 in Morrisburg court.
