7th Street DWI Vehicle Crash – Police Blotter for the Cornwall Ontario Area for Thursday October 11, 2012

FRAUD

 

Cornwall, ON- Ronald Villeneuve, 51 of Cornwall was arrested on the 10th of October 2012. It is alleged that between the 3rd of September and the 8th of September 2012 he fraudulently used a debit card to withdraw approximately $1400.00 in funds. The complainant contacted police when she noticed the money missing from her account and an investigation ensued. He was subsequently charged with Fraud (x12) and Possession of Stolen Property (x12) and held in custody to appear in court the following day.

 

 

 

ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON- Sierra Aspirot, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on the 10th of October 2012. She was bound by the provisions of a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to have no contact with a certain individual. It is alleged that on the 10th of October 2012 she attended the named person’s residence where she assaulted a neighbour by kicking him. Police were contacted and she was subsequently charged with Assault Bodily Harm and Breach of Probation (x3). She was held in custody until court the following day. The victim required stitches as a result of the assault.

 

 

 

IMPAIRED OPERATION

 

Cornwall, ON- Eric Lang, 42 of Cornwall was arrested on the 10th of October 2012. It is alleged that he was operating a motor vehicle on Seventh Street while intoxicated when he struck a parked vehicle. Police were notified and the male was subsequently charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over .08. He was released to appear in court on the 25th of October 2012.

 

 

 

 

BREACHES

 

Cornwall, ON- Justin Lazore, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 11th of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of an undertaking with the relevant conditions to not drive any motor vehicle anywhere in the province of Ontario and to abstain from communicating with certain individuals. It is alleged that on the 26th of May 2012, the male was observed by members of Canada Border Services Agency operating a motor vehicle. Police were notified and a warrant was requested for his arrest for Breach of Undertaking. The male was subsequently arrested on the strength of the warrant and held in custody until court the following day.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 9th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 8th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 23-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not required medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- Peter Dallas Thomas, 24 of St. Regis, Quebec was arrested on October 9th, 2012 under the strength of outstanding warrants. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour, appear before court when required to do so and notify the court or the probation officer in advance of any change of name or address. It is alleged that on April 10th, 2012 he failed to attend court and breaching a probation order. Warrants were issued. He was detained at the Canadian Border Services Agency and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with 3 counts of Breach of Probation Order and released to appear in court on October 25th, 2012.

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 9th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 9th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 28-year-old common-law wife when he damaged property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Mischief and released to appear in court on November 20th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

BREAK & ENTER

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on October 9th, 2012 at a Sheridan Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a Toshiba Laptop, an undisclosed amount of money, gold chain and personal documents . Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between October 6th, 2012 and October 7th, 2012 at a Jase Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a numerous gold rings, diamond gold necklace, numerous gold chains, and earrings. (South Dundas) – On 09Oct12, at approximately 10:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The stop revealed that the 84yr old male driver (Allan SNETSINGER of North Glengarry) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 16Oct12 in Cornwall court.
AGRICULTURAL MISHAP

(North Glengarry) – On 09Oct12, at approximately 10:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a agricultural mishap on County Road 10, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a 26yr old male (Francois Decoeur of North Glengarry) was working in a silo when he became entangled in an auger. The male was transported to Glengarry Memorial Hospital and subsequently airlifted to the Ottawa Civic Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The Ministry of Labour is continuing the investigation.
THEFT

(South Dundas) On 09Oct12, at approximately 11:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on Lakeshore Drive, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 8th-9th Oct12 unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a 2001 35ft Fountain Executioner power boat. The vessel is described as white with red stripes.

The investigation is ongoing.
(South Dundas) – On 10Oct12, at approximately 1:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on County Road 1, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime during the evening unknown suspect(s) attended a business and removed a Black 2006 Ford F-350 Super Duty truck.

The investigation is ongoing.
