Comic Dave Regnier $170K Fraud – Your Police Blotter for Cornwall Ontario for Tuesday October 16, 2012

PROBATION WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON- Natasha Lalonde, 28 of Cornwall was arrested on October 15th, 2012 under the strength of an outstanding Probation Warrant. It is alleged that on August 17th, 2012 a warrant was issued for 5 counts of breach of Probation Order. She turned herself in to police and was held in custody until court later that day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 15th, 2012. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with his 34-year-old girlfriend and not to attend within 50 meters of her residence. It is alleged that between October 14th, 2012 and October 15th, 2012, he got into an altercation with his 34-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her while wearing a cast and threaten her  The victim suffered injuries and received medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault, 2 counts of Assault with a weapon, Utter Death Threats and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

THEFT & BREACHES

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 19th, 2012. He was bound by a Youth Probation Order as well as an Undertaking with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on October 15th, 2012 he attended a Water Street store and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the item. He was detained by the store’s loss prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. He was charged with Theft under $5000, Breach of Probation Order and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 15th, 2012. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to not communicate directly or indirectly with his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend or to attend her residence. It is alleged that on October 15th, 2012, he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division at his ex-girlfriends residence. He was charged with 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance and released to appear in court on November 20th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the female.

 

FRAUD OVER, THEFT BY CONVERSION, FALSE PRETENCES & PRESONATION

 

            Cornwall, ON-. Member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Fraud Division has completed a Fraud investigation which was reported on May 24th, 2012. As a result of the investigation, on October 16th, 2012, David RJ Regnier, 34 of Toronto, turned himself in to the Cornwall Community Police Service and was arrested under the strength of an outstanding warrant.  It is alleged that between July 2008 and February 2012 he obtained approximately $170, 000 from numerous victims by falsehood and other fraudulent means. He was charged with 13 counts of Fraud Over $5000, 13 counts of Theft by Conversion, 13 counts of False Pretence and 2 counts of Personation. He was held in custody until bail court the same day.
