Bilingualism Advocate Jean Lecompte Disses Russell Township By-Law on Bilingual Business Signs – October 23, 2012

CFN – Bilingual language advocate Jean Lecompte while attending at meeting in South Stormont Ontario went on record claiming that he didn’t agree with the Bilingual sign law instituted in Russell Township that forces businesses to have signs with both English and French on them.

Responding to activist Howard Galganov Mr. Lecompte replies:

I don’t agree with that law.  That they have.  I don’t agree with that law.

Click to the 12:13 minute mark of the video to hear Mr. Lecompte’s very clear words.

Mr. Lecompte apparently has been doing some spinning since that evening when he refused to be interviewed by media after his comments.   He also disrupted the meeting and handed out a flyer.

He also has refused to be interviewed by CFN since which is sad as we’ve have been quite generous with Mr. Lecompte and his position previously including our coverage and support for the Francophone flag pole in Cornwall Ontario.

It does seem confusing to say you’re against the Russell Township by-law enforcing bilingual signs while being an advocate for such?

  1. supports biligualism……the english don’t care about what this language BS does to our city nor the country or the damage it does to our hospital. They need to be stirring the sh@t or they are not happy. You see SB they are the majority and think they can rule…….but not for long if they rule at all that is.

You see….when one is not content with their own life, they need to find an outlet to vent. Their personal frustrations become too much to bare. They don’t want to be alone in their misery…….so they create problems and try to gather followers.

It’s like a CULT when they try to entice the unhappy and making them believe that life can be better. Then the brainwashing begins, where they tell the downtrodden they are being discriminated against, not being treated fairly, that they are the majority and should be entitled to a lot more in life then what they are getting. In this case the big g…..galganov himself, the savior of the universe is leading his flock to a make believe world. A fatansy world where the english are supreme to all other cultures and one day they will rule. That is all an english person needs to hear to make them happy. The sad thing about it……..they believe this will happen **s**

Not so……..soon and sooner then you think, the english will be outnumbered. Canada is taking in 250,000 immigrants a year…..so dream on!!

Dear Stella – methinks you’ve got a big case of Transference there darling.

“Over 200 seperate languages are spoken in this country.”

-personally I think that’s fantastic that means Canada is becoming diverse of which there are many benefits for this.
-I know from your previous postings you feel uncomfortable with this.

“That being said, what will you do when schools start teaching Asian languages? Refuse to learn it like you did with french then claim discrimination? ”

Well learning as many languages is great …but GOVERNMENT mandating one language over another -IS THE PROBLEM!

“The piper, the big g himself said, this language issue will lead to a revolution.”

I am not the G ,but like many others as its becoming a growing trend that yes on the present path of GOVERNMENT policies this may lead to a revolution!

“TWO LANGUAGES ARE BETTER THEN ONE!!”

Many languages are better but only one is sponsored to the tune of billions a year (trillions over 43 years)to keep it on artificial life support-TEACH IT TO YOUR CHILDREN FOR IT TO SURVIVE do not enforce it on the remaining population!

If both languages were to be treated equally :

1-no additional funding to support either language -government to get out of the language business.
2-Graham Fraser should advocate English in Quebec to the same extent he pushes French in the rest of the country .He clearly does not !!!!

  4. Like in transferences neurosis……Oh Ok….lol Everyone has a right to their opinion whether it’s right or wrong….**smile**

Think of it as advocacy for our rights -kind like advocating for a Franco Ontario monument -perhaps others would call that stirring the *HIT?

Why do we need any cultural monument ?Do all other cultures prefer to isolate their culture as such?

-Well said statement but I put in minority which better suits the statement as the Quebec Government uses it school system push social engineering and brainwashing .

Thanks Stella in reality you did define Quebec’s social engineering well.

  6. Highlander you’re wrong my friend! It’s not so much English to the back of the bus anymore but more like English Get off the bus much like French language zealot parents pushed for in Alexandria.

Guess what, I’m not talking about that beautiful, historic city of Alexandria in Egypt either! I’m speaking about that second ‘sparkle city’ of Alexandria, Ontario!!!!

I hear that banjo theme song from ‘Deliverance’ in my head right now actually. Maybe in French, though this time!

  7. Ah yes, that’s the term i was looking for. “Transference”
MANY of “those folks” who speak from “that side” of this issue seem to be afflicted with this … It’s a VERY odd phenomena. Especially the extent to which they”transfer”

I too was thinking the same thing…Quebec and students and what is being taught in their schools. Pretty scary stuff.

  9. Trillions, again with your fiction howard. First you say we need to be exterminated, then you say everyone should boycott french owned stores, NOW, you say francophones in Ontario are cult members…HATRED, now are all of the above freedom of expression or just HATE propaganda !!

Continues with his propaganda ,does it work Richard to spread falsities?
Trillions, again with your fiction howard? Read that report from Mr.Allan yet?
I think you would prefer to ignore the facts as it doesn’t suit your views.

  11. I like facts, I also like the truths… something that eludes the big G. I have read only bits and pieces. Wasnt he the one that said that the whole budget of education for our provincial gov goes to language. Mr Allan is contested but you don’t have to take my word for it. Add it up yourself, take his numbers and add them up, his numbers are complete fiction, its a wonder if he gets tips from stephen harper or even dalton mcguinty.

So in reality is you like facts and truths but only in bits and peices.
I guess Sir that depends on what particular bits and peices you can actually read doesn’t it?

Wow you do have bad breading! Not your fault ,but you are a fine example in reasoning for selective breading.
