ROBBERY, POSSESSION OF WEAPON DANGEROUS, POINT FIREARM, BREAK & ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- Michael Colborne, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on October 5th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order and a Recognizance both with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on October 4th, 2012 he attended 19-year-old acquaintance’s residence, kicked in the door and demanded money while pointing a hand gun. He did not obtain any money and fled the area. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with Robbery with a Firearm, Use of Firearm while committing an offence, Possession of Weapons for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Firearm while Prohibited, Break & Enter, Disguise with intent, Breach of Probation Order, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Pointing a Firearm. He was held in custody until court the following day.

DRUGS

 

            Cornwall, ON- Andrea Menard, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on October 5th, 2012. It is alleged that she was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. She was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released to appear in court on November 27th, 2012.

Cornwall, ON- Mark Seguin, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on October 6th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 6th, 2012 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and released to appear in court on November 6th, 2012.

BREAK & ENTER

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between September 20th, 2012 and September 30th, 2012 at a Leonia Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry by a basement window and removed a ladies rope style gold chain with cross, a thin gold chain and a silver camera. Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on October 7th, 2012 at a Ivan Cresent. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a wooden jewelry box, an undisclosed amount of money, numerous gold rings, bracelets, gold chain and watch. ASSAULT & BREACHES

            Cornwall, ON- Matthew Comptois, 27 of Lunenburg was arrested on October 6th, 2012. He was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on August 25th, 2012 he assaulted a 29-year-old male acquaintance. The victim did not require medical treatment. He was charged with Assault and Breach of Probation Order. He was released to appear in court on November 13th, 2012.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS, CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, MISCHIEF & BREAK AND ENTER

            Cornwall, ON- A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on October 6th, 2012. It is alleged that on or about September 22nd, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 28-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her and threaten to cause damage to her property. The victim did not require medical treatment. Since the incident the male continued to attempt to have contact with the female. It is further alleged that on October 6th, 2012 he attended her residence and caused damaged while attempting to gain entry. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault, Utter Threats, Criminal Harassment, Domestic Mischief under $5000 and Break & Enter. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

MISCHIEF, BREACH & RESIST ARREST

            Cornwall, ON- A 13-year-old Cornwall was arrested on October 7th, 2012. The youth was bound by a three Probation Orders with the conditions of to abide by rules of that residence and keep the peace and be of good behaviour, to reside at address approved and comply with the routine discipline of such residence, as well as keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abide by the rules of residence and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on October 7th, 2012 he caused damage to the residence and property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Upon his arrest he resisted police. He was charged with 6 counts of Breach of Probation Order, Mischief under $5000 and Resist Arrest. He was held in custody until court October 9th, 2012.  The youth’s name was not releases as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT POLICE

            Cornwall, ON- Jarod Brown, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on October 8th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 8th, 2012 while intoxicated he pushed a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. The police officer was not injured. He was charged with Assault Police and released to appear in court on October 30th, 2012 to answer to the charge.

RESULTS OF OPERATION IMPACT

 

            Cornwall, ON- During the week of October 5th, 2012 and October 8th, 2012 the Cornwall Community Police Service were involved in the national traffic safety program called “Operation Impact”. As a result of the program, 25 charges were laid. A R.I.D.E program was conducted which resulted in 1 Criminal Code charge for Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle and a 24 Highway Traffic Act Charges.

(South Glengarry) – On 06Oct12, at approximately 01:15am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Glen Roy Road, South Glengarry Township.

The stop revealed that the 21yr old male driver (Christopher CHRETIEN of North Glengarry) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was found to have (small amount) of suspected marihuana in his possession.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 07Nov12 in Alexandria court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Stormont) – On 05Oct12, at approximately 11:45pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on South Branch Road, South Stormont Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 18grams of suspected marihuana.

The 60yr old male driver (Wayne DAVIS of South Stormont) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 27Nov12 in Cornwall court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Stormont) – On 08Oct12, at approximately 10:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Cumming Road, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 39yr old husband had been involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

He is scheduled to appear 23Oct12 in Cornwall court.
YOUTH CHARGED

(North Dundas) – On 05Oct12, at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault in the village of Morewood, On.

The investigation revealed that two boys were involved in a verbal altercation when one assaulted the other.
A 15yr old youth from North Dundas was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

He is scheduled to appear 18Oct12 in Cornwall court.
RACING LAW INFRACTIONS

– 07Oct12 (08:45am), SD&G OPP officer stops a west bound Honda on Highway 401, South Stormont….157km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

– 08Oct12 (7:30am), SD&G OPP officer stops an east bound Nissan on Highway 401, South Dundas….158km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

(South Dundas) – On 29Sept12, at approximately 7:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The stop revealed that the 50yr old male driver (Thuan Van HOANG of Saint-Leonard, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 09Oct12 in Cornwall court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 28Sept12, at approximately 8:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 20lbs of suspected marihuana.

The 20yr old male driver (Terry Ryan LEDOUX of Cornwall, On) was arrested and faces charges of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
– Trafficking Schedule II
– Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer
– Escape Lawful Custody
– Breach of Probation Order
– Dangerous Operation-Motor Vehicle

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $40,000.00.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Stormont) – On 29Sept12, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report to a domestic incident on Northfield Road, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 49yr old male friend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

He is scheduled to appear 23Oct12 in Cornwall court.
BREAK AND ENTER

(North Glengarry) – On 29Sept12, at approximately 3:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on St. George St. Alexandria, On.

The investigation revealed that sometime over the last week unknown suspect(s) attended a residence under construction and removed various tools and copper piping.

The investigation is ongoing.
