DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS & CRUELTY TO ANIMALS

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 20-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 15th, 2012. It is alleged that since May 2012, he got into several altercations with his 20-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her and uttered a threat. The victim did not require medical treatment. It is also alleged that he assaulted the family dog and the two cats. The animals suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 5 counts of Domestic Assault, Utter Death Threats and 3 counts of Cruelty to Animals. He was held in custody until court November 15th, 2012. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

FRAUD OVER

 

            Cornwall, ON- Robert Foster, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on November 15th, 2012. It is alleged that between April 2009 and January 2012 he was fraudulently obtaining financial support from a government agency and received an overpayment of approximately $35, 500. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Fraud Over $5000 and released to appear in court on December 6th, 2012.

 

DRUGS

 

            Cornwall, ON- An 18-year-old male was arrested on November 15th, 2012. It is alleged that on October 18th, 2012 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released to attend court on December 20th, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

                                                                           THEFT

(North Glengarry, ON) –  On 08Nov12, at approximately 4:13pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) responded to a theft complaint at Chartrand’s Independent Grocer in Alexandria, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that an 18yr old male (Brandon LESSARD of North Glengarry, On) had attempted to take items from the store.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Theft under $5000
– Fail to Comply – Undertaking before Officer in Charge

He is scheduled to appear 09Jan13 in Alexandria Court.

 

 

                                                                 BREACHED CONDITIONS
(North Glengarry, ON) – On 09Nov12, at approximately 3:40pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a male beaching his earlier release conditions on Main Street Alexandria, Ontario.
Sheldon DAVIDSON, 33 of North Glengarry, On was arrested and faces charges of:
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance x7
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.
                                                                     IMPAIRED DRIVER
(North Dundas, ON) – On 09Nov12, at approximately 8:34pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 43 west of Hallville, North Dundas Township, Ontario.
The investigation revealed that the 25yr old male driver (Kurtis WINTER of Winchester, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
The driver was transported to the Winchester Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
He is scheduled to appear 04Dec12 in Morrisburg Court.
                                                                   DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Stormont, ON) – On 10Nov12, at approximately 09:15am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Kenyon Street West, North Stormont, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that a 31yr old male and his 27yr old common-law wife were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male damaging property at the residence.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Breach of Recognizance
– Mischief under $5000 x 2

He is scheduled to appear 20Nov12 Cornwall Court.
                                                                     DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Stormont, ON) – On 11Nov12, at approximately 04:15am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Robinson Corners Road, North, Stormont, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that a 21yr old male and his 21yr old girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Assault

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.

 

 

                                                                 TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry, ON) – On 12Nov12, at approximately 1:40pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers had the occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
The stop resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of marihuana plants. The 38yr old male driver (Eric MOREAU of Deux Montagne, QC) and his 34yr old male passenger (Pierre Luc PRONOVOST of Terrebonne, QC) were arrested.
The driver faces charges of:
– Fail to comply with Undertaking or Recognizance x 3
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Resin under 1gram
– Possession for the purpose Schedule II Under 3kg
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.

The passenger faces charges of:
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Resin under 1gram
– Possession for the purpose Schedule II Under 3kg
He is scheduled to appear 06Feb13 in Alexandria Court.

 

 

                                                                        THEFT OF GAS
(North Glengarry, ON) –On 14Nov12, at approximately 1:39pm Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a theft of gas complaint at the Highland Esso on County Road 20, North Glengarry Township, Ontario.

The SD&G OPP located and arrested two males from Montreal, Quebec (Hihai DUMITRACHE 19yrs, and Georges HADDAD 18yrs).

They face charges of:

– Theft under $5000

They are scheduled to appear 09Jan13 in Alexandria Court.

 

 

                                                                 MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
(North Dundas, ON) – On 14Nov12, at approximately 5:57pm Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 43, North Dundas Township, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that an eastbound vehicle struck a westbound vehicle after trying to avoid a deer. The female driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to an Ottawa Hospital with serious, but no- life threatening injuries. The male driver and the female occupant of the westbound vehicle were transported to the Kemptville Hospital where they were treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

County Road 43 was closed for approximately three hours while police, fire and ambulance attended the scene.

The investigation is on-going and charges are pending on the outcome of the investigation.

 

                                                                   BREACHED CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry, ON) –  On 14Nov12, at approximately 10:48pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers observed a 16yr old male contravening his earlier release conditions.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to comply with Undertaking or Recognizance
– Failure to comply with sentence or disposition

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.
                                                                    BREACHED CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry, ON) – On 15Nov12, at approximately 1:44am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a female causing problems at a residence on County Road 18, South Glengarry Township, Ontario.

The investigation revealed that a 53yr old female (Catherine LALONDE of South Glengarry, On) was contravening her earlier release conditions.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Fail to comply with Undertaking or Recognizance x 4
– Breach of Probation Order

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.

                                                                         TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Stormont, ON) –ON 15Nov12, at approximately 11:15am Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana. The 28yr old male driver (Matthieu GUILLEMETTE of Magog, QC) also gave a false name to police.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams
– Obstruct/resist peace officer

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall Court.
                                                                                     INDUSTRIAL MISHAP

(South Dundas, ON) – On 16Nov12, at approximately 12:39am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of an industrial mishap on Allison Ave, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 44yr old male (Michael BYFORE of Morrisburg) was working in a warehouse when a 325lbs skid of insulation fell on him. The male was transported to Winchester  Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

The Ministry of Labour is continuing the investigation.
