Glassblowing Place Presents A Glass Art and Jewelry Vernissage on November 25th, 2012

Artists Mélissa Jeanson and Clément Bergeron

CFN – The Glassblowing Place in Alexandria is holding a vernissage to open their Glass Art and Jewelry Exhibition on November 25, 2012 from 12 PM to 5 PM. The vernissage will feature Mélissa Jeason and Clément Bergeron.

I have to be honest with you. I did not know what a vernissage was because I am not an artist nor am I bilingual. I looked it up and for your benefit and mine, I have listed the definition here.

ver·nis·sage

[ver-nuhsahzhFr. ver-nee-sazh] noun, plural ver·nis·sages  [-sah-zhiz; Fr. –sazh].

1. Also called varnishing day. The day before the opening of an art exhibition traditionally reserved for the artist to varnish the paintings.

2. A reception at a gallery for an artist whose show is about to open to the public.

I believe option number 2 is the proper definition of vernissage in this case. Mélissa and Clément kindly educated me on that matter and described their art and their role in the vernissage during our interview.

While Mélissa and Clément will only be at the Glassblowing Place for the one day, the exhibition will be run until December 24th.

The following are examples of the beautiful artwork that were created by Mélissa and Clément.

As you can see the fantastic glass artwork by Mélissa and Clément is well worth the trip to Alexandria. The exhibition opens with the vernissage on November 25, 2012 and carries on until December 24, 2012. I’m sure you can find a Christmas gift or two from this excellent collection at:
