AGGRAVATED ASSAULT & BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON- Derek Perkins, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 18th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to abstain from the purchase/possession and consumption of alcohol and other intoxicating substances and to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is alleged that on May 18th, 2013, while under the influence of alcohol, he got into an altercation with a 21-year-old male acquaintance when he bit him. The victim was transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Fail to comply with Undertaking and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON- A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 18th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 18th, 2013, he got into an altercation with his 27-year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her. The victim suffered minor physical injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and released to appear in court on June 18th, 2013. . His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

OVER 80

 

            Cornwall, ON- Ashlee Thomspon, 25 of Akwesasne was arrested during the early hours of May 19th, 2013. It is alleged that she was operating a motor vehicle and attended the Canadian Border- Cornwall Port while under the influence of alcohol. She was detained by the Canadian Border Service Agency and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. She was charged with Over 80 and released to appear in court on June 4th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC MISCHIEF

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 18th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 38-year-old wife when he damaged property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He turned himself in to police and was charged with Domestic Mischief. He was held in custody until later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 19th, 2013. It is alleged that he got into an altercation with his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her and continuously contacted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Criminal Harassment. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

ARSON

 

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating an Arson that occurred on May 20th, 2013 at a Shearer Avenue residence. The suspect(s) attended and started a fire which severely damaged a tow truck. FRAUD

 

            Cornwall, ON- Amber Boudrias-Bariteau, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on May 20th, 2013. She was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on May 8th, 2013 she attended a local bank and attempted to deposit a fraudulent cheque. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with attempt fraud, uttering forged document and breach of probation order. She was released to appear in court on July 2nd, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 26-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 20th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 20th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 25-year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her, prevented her from leaving and assaulted her a second time. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault and Forcible Confinement. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH WEAPON & THREATS

 

            Cornwall. ON- A 12-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 20th, 2013. It is alleged that on May 8th, 2013 the youth got into an altercation with her 37-year-old mother when she threaten to kill her while holding a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The youth was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Utter Death Threats. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

(South Glengarry) – On 21May13, at approximately 1:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to check a vehicle on County Road 20, South Glengarry Township.

The check revealed that the 25yr old female driver (from Cornwall, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
– Breach of Probation Order
– Possession Schedule I

She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(North Glengarry) – As a result of an ongoing personation investigation, SD&G OPP officers arrested a 31yr old male on 17May2013 in Alexandria, On.

The male (Eric Mainville of North Stormont) was stopped by OPP officers in April for a Highway Traffic Act violation where he provided false identification.

The male faces charges of:

– Personation with intent-intent to gain advantage
– Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer

He is scheduled to appear 11Jun13 in Cornwall court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 17May13, at approximately 3:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The traffic stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 26yr old male driver (Dalla SEN from Laval, QC) and his two male passengers (23yr old Oupheardy TOUCH and Jose-Alejandro SALAMANCA-ROMERO from Montreal, QC) were arrested and face charges of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

All of the males are scheduled to appear 03July13 in Alexandria court.
(South Dundas) –  On 17May13, at approximately 9:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 29yr old male driver (Peter HALLS of Mississauga, On) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 02July13 in Morrisburg court.
(North Dundas) – On 17May13, at approximately 6:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 1, North Dundas Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 24grams of suspected cocaine.

The 28yr old male driver (Jonathon GRAY of North Dundas) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule I

He is scheduled to appear 02July13 in Morrisburg court.

The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $2400.00.
BREAK AND ENTER

(North Dundas) – On 19May13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Victoria St. Winchester, On.

The investigation revealed that sometime overnight unknown suspects removed an air conditioner, pressure washer and various carpentry tools from a shed.

The investigation is ongoing.
(South Dundas) – On 17May13, at approximately 5:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Hutt Road, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime during the day unknown suspects(s) attended a residence and removed various items of jewelry from the home.

The investigation is ongoing.
RACING LAW INFRACTIONS

– 18May13 (10:30pm), SD&G OPP officer stops an eastbound BMW on Highway 401, South Dundas….170km/h (posted 100km/h zone).

19May13 (2:00pm), SD&G OPP officer stops an eastbound Toyota on Highway 401, South Dundas….155km/h (posted 100km/h zone).
