CFN —The Ottawa Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the rightful owner of an urn discovered on July 31, 2013 by a passerby on the west side of Hog’s Back Park in a lightly wooded area.

The urn is described as dark brown in color with a brass/gold colored trim just below lid (see picture). The dimensions are approximately 10” high with a diameter of 3.5” at the base and 6” at its widest point.

Inside the urn police located a plastic bag with the logo of Cercueils Magog Caskets, containing ashes, a small decorative framed plaque with the message “for always and no matter what” (see plaque), a light brown pillar candle, several rocks, several dry flowers along with a men’s ring.

The urn is believed to have been stolen as a result of a residential break and enter.

  1. So simple! If the police can’t find the owner of the urn then let them look inside the urn. There’s the owner! Ottawa police are not as bright as our boys in blue here in Cornwall.

  2. At least the thieves did not urn too much from their evil ways!
