Ottawa Police Service Briefs for Saturday August 17, 2013
opsThe Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section is investigating a sexual assault in the Centertown area of Ottawa on August 14, 2013.

 

A 26-year-old woman reported to police that at about 9:30 pm she was walking down the canal access stairs near Rideau Street when she became unconscious. When she awoke a short while later she had reason to believe she was sexually assaulted. No suspect was present.

Rideau Street the harlem of Ottawa and going down those stairs to the canal area is also very dangerous since many homeless people are found down there. Vanier is the other harlem and full of drugs known to man. Anybody with any common sense will not go in these places at night let alone the day time.
