Ottawa Police Seek Assistance in Unprovoked Attack – Cornwall Ontario & Area Police Blotter OPP Oct 25,2013

Cornwall, ON – A 17 year old Cornwall male was arrested on October 24, 2013.  It is alleged that on October 22, 2013, he had a verbal argument with his 18 year old girlfriend which escalated into him holding her to the floor then throwing her against the wall at her residence.  He also pushed her against a door frame where she struck her head.  She suffered minor injuries.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  The male was charged with Assault.  He was held for a Bail Hearing later the same day.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

 

Cornwall, ON – A 35 year old Akwesasne male was arrested on October 24, 2013.  It is alleged that he attended his estranged wife’s residence in Cornwall where they engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into him swinging his fist at her, brushing against her nose.  She is fearful of her estranged husband.  She did not suffer any injuries.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  The male was charged with Assault.  He was released to appear in court onDecember 5, 2013.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

 

Cornwall, ON – A 19 year old Cornwall female was arreted on October 25, 2013.  It is alleged that she was consuming alcohol with her 23 year old boyfriend when they engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into her hitting him over the head with a glass liquor bottle.  He suffered a bump on his head.  Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted.  The female was charged with Assault with a Weapon.  She was held for a Bail Hearing later this date.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

(North Dundas) – On 24Oct13, at approximately 6:30pm, SDG OPP officers responded to a driving complaint on County Road 43, North Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 57yr old male (Danny CHERISNA of Ottawa, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood
– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to appear 05Nov13 in Cornwall court.

(South Glengarry) – On 23Oct13, at approximately 6:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between 20th – 22nd October unknown suspect(s) attended the Grays Creek marina and removed a 2004 Lund Pro V Bass boat.

The vessel is described as blue and silver in colour with a 150 HP Yamaha V Max motor.

The investigation is ongoing.

(Ottawa)—On October 22, 2013 at approx 2:00pm a 24 year old woman was walking on Bayview Road near the roundabout at Burnside Ave when she was attacked from behind by an unknown male. She was struck in the head with an object, which caused her to fall to the ground. The suspect was last seen walking south on Bayview Road.

She was transported by Ottawa Paramedic Service to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The male suspect is described as a light brown skin complexion, 30-40 years old, 5’6” (168cm), thin to medium build. He was wearing a black jacket – possibly leather, greenish baseball cap and black sneakers.

The victim thought she saw two women walking in the area at the time who may have seen the male suspect.

The Ottawa Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect.

(Ottawa) — On Tuesday, October 22nd 2013, the Ottawa Police Service, Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section, charged an Ottawa man after a report of a Sexual Assault on a 15 year old girl.

On Sunday October 20th 2013, at 8:30 pm, police officers responded to a call of a Sexual Assault in the 1700 block of Innes Road in the city’s east end. Police attended and learned that the 15 year old female complainant had been driven to an isolated area, east of Rockland Ontario, and sexually assaulted. The girl was returned to Ottawa by the suspect and dropped off on Innes road afterwards. The suspect was driving a rented 2013, 4 door grey Mazda 3, with a rental decal on the rear bumper.

Mohamad SLEIMAN, 31 years old, will appear in court today charged with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, two counts of Uttering Threats, Forcible Confinement and two counts of Breach of Probation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, October 23, 2013 9:30 am

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section charged an Ottawa man in relation to a Sexual assault on an 11 year old girl that occurred in 1997. The girl was grabbed off a bike path in the Hampton Park area by an unknown male in the summer of 1997.

In July 2013, the suspect was identified through Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) at the RCMP National DNA Data Bank. The Ottawa Police were notified and an investigation commenced.

On August 28, 2013 the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit charged Francis CHARRON, 45 years old, of Ottawa with Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Invitation to Sexual Touching, Uttering Threats and Forcible Confinement.

He appeared in court on October 3, 2013 for a bail hearing and has been held in custody since that time.

The Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section is concerned that there could be further victims and is asking those who may have been a victim of Mr. Charron, a resident of Ottawa and Gatineau in the past years, to contact police.
