            Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 12th, 2013 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on November 6th, 2013 while at his 20-year-old girlfriend’s residence the man was involved in a verbal argument when he grabbed her by the throat and punched her in the eye. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 12th, 2013 during their investigation the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

WARRANT

 

            Cornwall, ON – Ernest Corbiere, 37 of Williamstown was arrested on November 12th, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the man failed to attend court on October 29th, 2013 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On November 12th, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody and transported to courts for a bail hearing.

 

FAIL TO ATTEND FOR PRINTS

 

            Cornwall, On – Wade Harris, 28 of Akwesasne was arrested on November 12th, 2013 and charged with failing to attend for prints. It is alleged that on October 24th, 2013 the man failed to attend for prints and on November 12th, 2013 attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to attend court on November 26th, 2013.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on November 12th, 2013 and charged with breach of a recognizance for being out past curfew and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on November 11th, 2013 police attended the youth’s residence on an unrelated matter and found the youth was not present and out past curfew. On November 12th, 2013 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. The youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The youth’s name was not released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Stormont) –  On 09Nov13, at approximately 3:50pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Bruce Street, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 22yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Assault x2

He is scheduled to appear 26Nov13 in Cornwall court.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Stormont) –  On 09Feb13, at approximately 4:20pm, Stormont,  Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a Dodge Calibre and a Chevy van on County Road 43 and County Road 12, Finch in the Township of  North Stormont.

The investigation revealed that the 47yr old male driver of the Dodge Calibre (William Oscar FAWCETT of Winchester, Ontario) was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle

–               Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

–               Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

–               Take Motor Vehicle without Consent

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

The drivers and occupants of all the vehicles were treated for minor injuries.

 

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Dundas) –  On 09Nov13, at approximately 10:00 pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Brouse Drive, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a male and his 37yr old ex-girlfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the female assaulting the male.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Assault

–               Break and enter to commit and indictable offence

She is scheduled to appear 19Nov13 in Cornwall court.

 

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(South Dundas) –  On 11Nov13, at approximately 2:45am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Saddlemire Road, Williamsburg in the Township of  South Dundas.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 50yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Assault

He is scheduled to appear 19Nov13 in Cornwall court.

 

TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Stormont) – On 11Nov13, at approximately 3:16am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 401 in the Township of South Stormont.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 23yr old male driver (Gabi MANSOUR of Ajax, Ontario) was arrested and faces a charge of:

–       Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana-under 30 grams

He is scheduled to appear 04Dec13 in Cornwall court.

 

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

(North Stormont) –  On 12Nov13, at approximately 9:00am, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Sabourin Street, North Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 25yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Assault

–               Mischief under $5000

–               Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Stormont) –  On 12Feb13, at approximately 5:30pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 31 south of Ormond Road  in the Township of  North Dundas.

The investigation revealed that the 44yr old female driver (Julie LAROCQUE of Winchester, Ontario) was operating the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and faces charges of:

–               Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle

–               Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content

–               Driving under suspension

She is scheduled to appear 17Dec13 and 31Dec13 in Morrisburg Court.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was treated at the Winchester Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
