It wasn’t that long ago that Asian food in Cornwall Ontario was your old fashioned doughy pineapple chicken balls smothered in sugary cherry sauce and spare ribs. In the past five years many of the old school restaurants have closed and evolved.
The former Jade Restaurant on 2nd Street East was remodeled and converted into Moon Thai & Japanese. I have to admit I’m a fan and am prejudiced in doing this review. I’ve had many a meal there over the years, but am only now reviewing them.
The menu buffet isn’t new; but it’s fairly new here in Cornwall. Instead of lining up and getting dry or soggy food that people have poked and prodded Moon’s pleasant staff zoom back and forth bringing pleasing samplings as you order them.
As pedestrian as it sounds with the multitude of offerings that they have I love their home made Won Ton soup. Tiny won tons with a burst of flavour in each one. The soup itself is subtle and supports the Won Ton’s. I usually end up having multiple bowls.
While Sushi is the star at Moon they do have full alternatives of Thai and Asian cuisine.
Their menu is huge and a treat. 
I’m not used to eating Salad’s in Asian restaurants, but Moon’s offers some yummy ones to ease one’s pallet into the meal. While I usually will grab a Seaway Salad, this time I tried the Mango which again was light and flavorful.
Cheese Won tons fried golden with light sauce; Edamame beans, Thai Wings, General Tso Chicken, a lovely Green Curry, it all kept flowing.
And of course sharing with others makes it even more fun.
You can order your dishes spicy or mild. There are great Seafood offerings too and again the Sushi!
Desert can be as simple as some Green Tea Ice Cream or my fave, fried banana with a chocolate drizzle!
