            Cornwall, ON – Kassidy Normandeau, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on December 10th, 2013 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On December 11th, 2013 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and later released with a court date of January 14th, 2014.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – Paul Emile Chartrand, 69 of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2013 and charged with breaching a recognizance for having failed to sign in at police headquarters and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breaching an undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 9th, 2013 the man failed to attend the police headquarters to sign in and on December 11th, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – Dylan Moses, 30 of Akwesasne was arrested on December 11th, 2013 and charged with breaching his recognizance for being away from his residence without his surety. It is alleged that on December 11th, 2013 the man was found to be out without his surety when he was stopped by custom officials at the port of entry. Police were contacted and assumed custody of the man. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

 

IMPAIRED

 

            Cornwall, ON – Francois Cote, 48 of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2013 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle in the area of Guy Street and Montreal Road while under the influence of alcohol. During a traffic stop the man was taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with a court date of December 31st, 2013.

 

ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Chantal Turcotte, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on December 11th, 2013 and charged with assault police and breach of an undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that police were called to attend a local restaurant on Brookdale Avenue in relation to a disturbance. On arrival police arrested the woman for being intoxicated in a public place. She was transported to police headquarters and during the booking process kicked an officer in the leg. The woman was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DRUG WARRANT EXECUTED

 

            Cornwall, ON – On December 10th, 2013 members of the Cornwall Police Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a First Street East address. As a result of the warrant Mathieu Decoeur, 25 and Travis Pyke, 24 both of Cornwall were arrested on December 10th, 2013 and charged with the following:

Travis Pyke;

·         Possession of cocaine

·         Possession for the purpose of trafficking

·         Obstruct police ( for allegedly disposing of evidence)

·         Three counts of breach of undertaking for associating with a person known to have a criminal record, associating with a person known to use drugs and failing to keep the peace.

Mathieu Decoeur:

·         Possession of cocaine

·         Possession for the purpose of trafficking

·         Breach of undertaking for being in possession of drugs and failing to keep the peace

 

It is alleged that on December 10th, 2013 police executed the warrant and located just over 11 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $1100.00. While at the residence it is also believed that Travis Pyke attempted to dispose of some of the drugs. Both were arrested, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 14-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on December 10th, 2013 and charged with breaching his recognizance for being away from his residence without permission and breaking house rules. He was also charged with breaching a probation order for breaching the curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on December 10th, 2013 the youth left school and did not return home before his curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth returned home and was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

(South Glengarry) – On 12Dec13, at approximately 01:45am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township.

The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. The 21yr old male driver (Tyler QUESNEL of Cornwall, On) was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More Than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

He is scheduled to appear 08Jan14 in Alexandria court.

(Ottawa)— On December 9, 2013, Ottawa Police Service West District Neighborhood Officers responded to a complaint of suspicious activity in the 400 block of Greenview Avenue.

As a result, the Central District Investigation team launched an investigation into Human Trafficking which led to one male being charged with a series of offenses.

Zhao LIU, 31 years old, of Ottawa, was charged with:

• Trafficking in persons by recruiting
• Trafficking in persons by exercising control
• Financial/material benefit
• Live on avails of prostitution/victim over 18 (two counts)
• Keep common bawdy-house

He is scheduled to appear in court today.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 3:30 a.m., police received a call for a shooting in the Morningside Avenue/Kingston Road area.

It is alleged that:

– officers attended and located a man suffering from an obvious injury

– the incident was targeted

– a sawed-off shotgun was seized at the scene

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Randy Persaud, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Attempt Murder
2. Aggravated Assault
3. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
4. Careless Use of a Firearm
5. Weapons Dangerous

He appeared in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Monday, December 9, 2013, room 41, 10 a.m.

On Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 2:08 a.m., police responded to a stabbing call at Richmond Street East and York Street.

Officers attended and located a 19-year-old man suffering from apparent stab wounds.

The following arrests were made previous to the above news release:

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, a 15-year-old boy was charged with Manslaughter.

He appeared in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Thursday, October 31, 2013.

The young person’s name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2013, Stavros Panagiotopoulos, 22, of Toronto, was charged with Manslaughter.

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, October 31, 2013.

On Friday, November 8, 2013, Terelle Holder, 22, of Toronto, surrendered to police and was charged with Manslaughter.

The investigation is ongoing as two males in this investigation have yet to be identified.

Police request assistance identifying three robbery suspects, Jane Street/Sheppard Avenue West area

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying three males in a robbery investigation.

On Friday, December 6, 2013, at approximately 2:45 p.m., in the Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West area, it was reported that:

– a woman was walking along Sheppard Avenue West, with her young grandchild in a stroller, when three males swarmed her

– the woman was robbed of her personal belongings, while her face was held so she couldn’t scream

– one of the males took hold of the young child’s neck as the child was seated in the stroller and attempted to lift the child out of the stroller

– the child was strapped in and the male was not able to remove the child

– a westbound TTC bus stopped to let its passengers out on Sheppard Avenue West, and it was at that time all three males fled

Suspect #1 is described as black, dark complexion, 15-16.

Suspect #2 is described as black, dark complexion, 15-16, tallest of the three males, and had a long-shaped face.

Suspect #3 is described as black, dark complexion, 15-16, hair done in small cornrows, had a large, round face, and was wearing a jean jacket, baggy blue jeans which were falling down off the waist and red running shoes.

1. 15 counts of Break-and-Enter
2. 15 counts of Fail To Comply Probation

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
