Cornwall PoliceAGGRAVATED ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Ross MacDonald , 37 of Cornwall was arrested on January 21st, 2014 and charged with the following:

·         Aggravated assault

·         Assault with a weapon

·         Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

·         Breach of undertaking and recognizance for failing to keep the peace

It is alleged that on December 20th, 2013 the man attended a Prince Arthur Street address and confronted a 20-year-old man from Glen Robertson over money owed. During the confrontation the man hit the 20-year-old several times with a baseball bat causing the 20-year-old to suffer serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 21st, 2014 police located the man at a First Street address, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

 

WITNESS WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Anthony Marini, 22 of Ingleside was arrested on January 21st, 2014 on the strength of a witness warrant. It is alleged that the man failed to attend court as required and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 21st, 2014 police located the man at a First Street address, took him into custody then transported him to police headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – Darcy Dingman, 45 of Cornwall was arrested on January 22nd, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on November 2nd, 2013 police attended the man’s residence to see if the man was abiding by his conditions. Investigation revealed that the man was breaching his recognizance and had moved without notifying police, was no longer residing with his surety, was away from his residence for non medical reasons and found to be residing with a person which he was not to be in contact with. A warrant was obtained for his arrest and on January 22nd, 2014 the man was located by police at the Cornwall Court House. He was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

 

ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 20-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on January 22nd, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on January 22nd, 2014 the woman was involved in an argument with her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend when she punched him in the chest. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they took the woman into custody, charged her accordingly and held her for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on January 21st, 2014 and charged with four counts of breach of undertaking for having consumed intoxicating substances and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on two occasions during the month of January, 2014 the youth was found to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance when he was picked up by his foster parents. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 21st, 2014 during their investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

TAKE MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT CONSENT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Orleans youth was arrested on January 21st, 2014 and charged with take motor vehicle without consent. It is alleged that on January 21st, 2014 while in Cornwall the youth was asked to move a vehicle from a driveway when he left with the vehicle for more than an hour. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On January 21st,     2014 the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released with a future court date. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
