DparkinsonPOSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

            Cornwall, ON – Tyler Blain, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2014 and charged with possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that on May 21st, 2014 police attended the bike path in the area of Emma Street in relation to a suspicious activity call. Once on scene police located the man and found that he was in possession of a quantity of marihuana. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 3rd, 2014.

 

ASSAULT

            Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 21st, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on May 21st, 2014 during an argument with his 22-year-old girlfriend the man pushed her against the wall. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 10th, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

ASSAULT, THREATS, CHOKING

            Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 21st, 2014 and charged with assault, threats and two counts of overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged that on May 21st, 2014 the man was arguing with his 53-year-old girlfriend when he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the wall. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police also learned of another incident that occurred in August, 2013 where the man grabbed her by the throat and threatened to kill her. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON – Samantha McCormick, 18 of Cornwall was arrested on May 21st, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on May 15th, 2014 for a fraud related charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 21st, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

MISCHIEF

            Cornwall, ON – Kathleen White, 53 of Cornwall was arrested on May 22nd, 2014 and charged with mischief along with being intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that on May 22nd, 2014 police were called to attend the 100 block of Belmont Street for a disturbance call. Once on scene police learned that the intoxicated woman broke a car’s tail light with a hammer. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held until sober.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Nicole Chagnon, 44 of Lachine, Quebec was arrested on May 20th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on March 24th, 2014 on a fraud over $5000 charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 20th, 2014 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Montreal to assume custody of the woman as she was being detained by Montreal Police on the strength of the warrant. She was taken into custody and transported to Cornwall where she was held for a bail hearing.

Detectives from the General Crime Unit are looking for assistance in identifying a suspect in an attempt break and enter to a local business.

 

On Friday, April 25 a male suspect attended the business of Alfatech Scooters, located in the Peachtree Plaza strip mall at 1187 Princess St. With a crowbar he broke the glass out from a side door entrance. The security alarm was activated and the suspect fled without obtaining any merchandise. Video surveillance was able to capture some images of the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as:

 

Male, Caucasian, approximately 30 years of age, wearing a black Nike ball cap, sunglasses, blue jeans, and a gray hoodie underneath a dark winter jacket with white stripes down the front and back of both arms.
