ASSAULT, BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, ON – A 39-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 29th, 2014 and charged with break and enter and assault. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of May 29th, 2014 the man gained entry into his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend’s residence without her permission and during an argument pushed her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they located the man who had left the scene at his residence. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON – James Seyeau, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on May 27th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on May 13th, 2014 the man attended an Amelia Street address and removed several fuel pumps from the back yard without permission. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 27th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on June 26th, 2014.
Cornwall, ON – Katlen Moore, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on May 27th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on May 27th, 2014 the woman attended a Second Street East store and removed packages of meat making no attempts to pay for them. The woman was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Joshua Wynne, 33 of Kashechewan was arrested on May 28th, 2014 and charged with breaching his recognizance for having consumed alcohol. In the early morning hours of May 28th, 2014 police responded to a disturbance call at Nav Canada. On arrival police located the intoxicated man and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BAIL VIOLATIONS
(North Dundas) – On May 28th, 2014 at approximately 8:00pm, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 43, North Dundas Township. Further checks on two male passengers revealed they were in contravention of conditions imposed (non-communication order) from a previous incident.
Anthony RIGTER (25) of North Grenville, Ontario and Daniel WILLIAMS (18) of Kemptville, Ontario were arrested and both charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Conditions
Both were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall this date (29May14).
(North Glengarry) – On May 28th, 2014 at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) spot checks on Lochiel Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. A check of a male passenger in a vehicle revealed he was in contravention of a condition imposed (curfew) from a previous incident.
A 16year old male youth (from North Glengarry) was arrested and is charged with;
– Fail to Comply with Disposition (Youth Criminal Justice Act)
He was released and scheduled to appear in youth court in Cornwall on July 9th, 2014.

SEAWAY VALLEY CRIME STOPPERS COORDINATOR RETIRES
(SD&G) – After 31 ½ years with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the current voice of Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers and SD&G OPP, Constable Pete ROBERTSON officially retires on May 31st, 2014.
Constable ROBERTSON began his career with the OPP on January 17th, 1983 serving at the Lancaster Detachment. Throughout his tenure, he served as a patrol officer, Marine Unit operator, Highway Safety Division, Community Services and most recently as the Coordinator of Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers and Media Relations Officer with SD&G OPP Detachment.
Constable ROBERTSON was instrumental in conceptualizing the “Stay on Course” program with grade 6 students in SD&G. A Crime Stoppers initiative, the concept enables youth to experience the sport of golf while learning the needed social skills required on the golf course which can be applied in life to be successful.
Inspector Brendan MACDONALD, SD&G OPP Detachment Commander stated that “Pete has done a great job keeping the people of SD&G informed via media and Crime Stoppers. His personality was a perfect fit for the position he held”. He adds “the Stay on Course program has fostered positive relationships with our youths, the leaders of tomorrow!”
Constable ROBERTSON is married to Joan (28years), they have 2 sons; Mike, a top runner with Canada’s Men 4×4 relay team, recently completed his Master’s at Ottawa University and Ryan, who is at Queen’s University studying Commerce is currently in Calgary completing an internship with Feris Oil. The ROBERTSON’s call South Glengarry their home and a great place to raise their family.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(South Glengarry) – On May 27th, 2014 SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of domestic incidents between a man and his common-law spouse, which had occurred at a residence on Andrea Avenue, South Glengarry Township. Further investigation revealed several occurrences had taken place between 2012 and 2014.
A 22 year old male (from South Glengarry) was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault (18 counts)
– Assault with a Weapon (4 counts)
– Mischief under $5000 (7 counts)
– Utter Threats (4 counts)
– Forcible Confinement
– Cruelty to Animals
He was held in custody and scheduled to appear in court (bail) this date in Cornwall.
UTTER THREAT
(South Stormont) – On May 27th, 2014 at approximately 2:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a threat complaint at a property on County Road 29, South Stormont Township. Investigation revealed a male had uttered a threat to another male. Further details indicated the accused was bound by a condition of non-communication from a previous incident.
A 46year old man (from South Stormont) was arrested and is charged with;
– Utter Threat
– Fail to Comply with Condition
He was held in custody and scheduled to appear in court (bail) this date in Cornwall.

Two Ottawa men charged for damaging election signs

(Ottawa)—On Thursday, May 22 2014, Ottawa Police Service East District investigators charged two men with damaging political electoral signs.
In the early morning hours of May 22, two men were walking in the Southmore Drive/McCarthy Road area and lit several signs on fire belonging to an election’s candidate.
A witness called Police and Fire and the two men were seen fleeing the scene by attending Ottawa Fire Fighters. Police officers attended the area and arrested both men.
Thomas WALLIS, 19 years old, of Ottawa and Grayden DREW, 18 years old, of Ottawa, have both been charged with one count of Mischief to property. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
Police investigators have determined that there is no indication that WALLIS or DREW were targeting any particular political party; and this appears to be a random act.
Ottawa Police would like to remind the public that the damaging of political signs is a criminal offense.
