Cornwall PolicePOSSESSION OF PROHIBITED WEAPON

 

            Cornwall, ON – Brody Willard, 20 of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2014 and charged with four counts of possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged that on June 12th, 2014 while police were investigating an unrelated matter at a residence the man was found to be in possession of a set of brass knuckles and three prohibited knives. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on July 10th, 2014.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Ahmed Kerim of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on June 12th, 2014 the man selected several products from a Second Street East grocery store and left making no attempts to pay for them. Police were contacted and located the man a short distance away. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ROBBERY

            Cornwall, ON – Christopher Cameron, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2014 and charged with two counts of robbery. It is alleged that on June 11th, 2014 the man entered an Alice Street address and demanded money from two occupants all the while brandishing a knife. The man then left the area with a quantity of cash and police were later notified. On June 12th, 2014 during the police investigation the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

ESCAPE LAWFUL CUSTODY

            Cornwall, ON – Daniel Labrecque, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2014 and charged with escape lawful custody. It is alleged that on June 12th, 2014 during sentencing for an unrelated matter at the Cornwall Courthouse the man attempted to escape. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase by police and court staff and charged accordingly. He was then held in custody at the courthouse.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON – Jeffrey Leblanc, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on June 13th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged that a warrant was issued for his arrest as he failed to abide by his set conditions. In the early morning hours of June 13th, 2014 the man was spotted walking in the area of McConnell Avenue and Fifth Street by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 10th, 2014 and charged with assault and threats. It is alleged that on June 10th, 2014 during an argument with her mother the youth grabbed a knife and told her mother she was going to stab her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation they took the youth into custody, charged her accordingly and held her for a bail hearing. The youth’s name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

MISCHIEF

 

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Akwesasne man was arrested on June 10th, 2014 and charged with mischief. It is alleged that on June10th, 2014 during an argument with his 21-year-old girlfriend while at her residence on Yates Avenue the man damaged walls and threw her laptop to the ground causing it to break. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREAK AND ENTER, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 10th, 2014 and charged with break and enter along with breach of three probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that sometime at the beginning of June, 2014 the youth forced her way into a Second Street West apartment and once inside damaged some property. On June 10th, 2014 police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police located the youth at a Marlborough Street address and took her into custody. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME

 

Cornwall, ON – Richard Bertrand, 50 of Longuilles, Quebec was arrested on June 10th, 2014 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on June 10th, 2014 during a traffic stop in the area of Second Street and Hickory Street the man was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT

 

(North Glengarry) –  On 12June14, at approximately 7:00pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (SD&G OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Lochiel Street, North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 58yr old ex-husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male damaging property at the residence.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

–       Domestic Mischief

–       Criminal Harassment

He is scheduled to appear in Alexandria Court 15July14.

DRUGS/WEAPON SEIZED

(North Dundas ) – On June 11th, 2014 at approximately 7:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at a property on Irish Headline Road, North Dundas Township. A check of the noted vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected marihuana, methamphetamine pills and a BB handgun.

Audley SMITH (43) of Quebec, Qc was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

He was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on August 5th, 2014.
THEFTS

(North Dundas) – Between 10-11June, 2014 a 2007 Corn Pro tilt trailer, red in color with Ontario plate #K7450B was taken from a property on County Road 43 (old MTO yard) North Dundas Township.

(North Glengarry) – Overnight 10-11June, 2014 a vending machine was forcibly entered at a property (Glengarry Golf & Country Club) on McCormick Road, North Glengarry Township. A quantity of cash was taken.

Investigations continue.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

(North Glengarry) – On June 10th, 2014 at approximately 3:30am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a suspicious male entering a parked vehicle (not his) at a property on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of stolen items. Further information indicated he was in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.

Corey HELLIKER (28) of Alexandria, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Theft
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
– Fail to Comply with Conditions (3 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) in Cornwall.

Seeking public assistance in identifying woman involved in fraud

suspect

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, June 12, 2014       4:25pm  

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service is looking to identify a female involved in Fraud.

On May 22, 2014 at 5:00pm, a female suspect entered a local Pharmacy on Bank Street and purchased prescription drugs. She used a stolen Health card for identification.

She is described as a caucasian female, in her early 20s, 5’2” (157cm), thin build, long black hair… (see picture).
