Dark Days for Ontario as Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals Win a Majority Victory – June 12, 2014

Jamie Gilcig

jg2CORNWALL Ontario – Tonight a very dark cloud covered the province.  Dirty politics; dirty tricks; and spending billions of tax dollars and Ontarian’s futures were spent in what has given Premier Kathleen Wynne and her Liberal government the majority that Dalton McGuinty failed to achieve last kick at the can.

Ultimately it was triggered by PC leader Tim Hudak’s historically bad performance triggered by his insane statement of cutting 100,000 jobs.

When you have an opponent scandalized and on the ropes what you don’t want to do is put the focus on yourself; especially with a plot point that only will play with your party loyal.  Which rocket scientist on his team thought that it would help nab some soft votes from the Centre?

Unions spent millions advertising and campaigning against Mr. Hudak and the result is hopefully the end of his career at this level in politics.

As for NDP leader Andrea Horwath; she herself may lose her role as Party leader.   After propping up the Wynne government she brought them down only to lose her role as Queen maker.

Very few polls predicted a Liberal majority.   It shows how important the jobs issue rightly is for Ontario voters.

Of course the darker turn of the screw is the Liberal government now has carte blanche to inflict its policies over the province with no checks and balances including corruption in several municipalities such as Cornwall.   Does anyone expect a partisan Attorney General to institute an inquiry into what’s been going on in this city as an example?

The victor in this election was not the Liberal Party of Ontario; but corruption and scandal over the Democratic process.

The losers were not Tim Hudak and Andrea Horwath, but the people of Ontario.

It also means another four years of useless silence by a MPP who has no leverage at Queen’s Park in SD&SG.

UPDATED 10:48

Tim Hudak has resigned.   Odd speach; you’d think he’d won by the way he was speaking.

What do you think Ontario?  You can post your comments below.

  1. I don’t usually agree with a lot of Jamie’s articles. But in this case I think he hit it right on the head. With the Fiberals in a majority position we can look forward to four more years of scandals, lies, etc.

Tim Hudak made a major error announcing his 100k Ontario PS job cut AND the 1,000,000 new jobs so early in the campaign. Hopefully he will do the right thing and resign. He’s had two kicks at the Fiberals and has done badly in both attempts. Bye-bye Tim.

Now the Fiberals are free to pass their budget which will wreak havoc on Ontario. The Ontario Pension Plan will yank 2.5% out of any employee’s paycheck that does not have a company pension plan. The workers at Timmies, McD’s, etc. are going to be thrilled about losing $50/month more off the take-home pay. If they think they have a hard time making ends meet now, just wait until this kicks in. And if you’re making more than minimum wage they’ll yank even more from your take-home pay.

Ontario made a big mistake tonight. The best solution would have been a Liberal or PC minority government propped up by the NDP. Now with a majority the Fibertals can run roughshod over the province for four more years.

  2. Hugger Hudak (who dat) resigned this evening. I said to my daughter a while ago that it should have been somebody else with more credibility to hold that job. We are all very disappointed here but it was no surprise to us that Winnie got in again to do more destruction to Ontario. People do not know what they did and people of Ontario haven’t seen anything yet. My vote would not have counted for anything and glad that I didn’t go to the polls to end up even more disappointed than what I am now. My daughter said that there are no jobs and she doesn’t want to spend money to go back to college and get out with nothing. Cornwall will pay a heavy price as well like usual. Manufacturing is gone overseas and nothing left and industries are not coming back at all.

  3. People do not want to hear the truth. Denial is the easier route. Hudak was never in the race, he was not willing to acquire power at any cost, The Liberals understand power and how to influence the majority of voters who are not politically inclined. Fear and intimidation rules the day and wins in Canadian politics. Get your wallets out and buy pants with deeper pockets the wealthy Liberals and their powerful friends are about to go on a shopping spree at the taxpayers expense, for the next four years unchecked. Cornwall will not fair well.

David the Liberals ran a campaign that clearly showed they knew that most of the public was fed up with their scandals. They never expected Hudak to implode in the first run by suggesting that by somehow cutting 100K gov’t jobs they could add a Million jobs to the economy. That was a sell job that blew them right out of the water. Even Conservatives shook their heads at that one, and I bet you did too; it also was compounded by those 100K and their unions ratcheting up support for the only clear alternative. Andrea Horwath; for someone that brought down a government over corruption clearly was out of her league on the campaign trail. Any leader that brags in their end of speech about getting a few more seats while losing the grip that she had by having a minority gov’t in place clearly is clueless.

Ontario essentially gave majority control of this province via only 51% of the public voting. 60% of the public that did vote, voted against the Liberal Government. That’s scary.

  5. Daniel 2:21 “And he (God) changeth the times and the seasons: he (God) removeth kings, and setteth up kings…”. Pro 21:1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will”.

That the Liberals would win with a majority displays that the Living God has put Primer Wynne back in office to execute His further judgment on Ontario because of the immoral decadence displayed by the Liberal agenda overall, first in it’s leadership, and then in that the people love it so.

Also this election has shown what the Bible calls human depravity and sinfulness. Even in light of all the criminal incompetence of the Liberal party, the people re-elects them. There can be no other reason for Liberals getting back in, but again God’s judgment upon us –

“And just as they did not approve to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things which are not fitting; having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice….”(Romans 1:28-32. A “reprobate mind” – a mind that can no longer discern right from wrong, good from evil.

Dark days? more serious then that – Psa 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God”.

  6. Note to Cons: The next time, four years from now, don’t run with a weaselly leader espousing imported Tea-Party BS. And never assume that the voters are as dumb as you are.
@ Mr. Newton. The Flying Spaghetti Monster and Tim Hudak gave Wynne her majority.

  7. So 60% of half of the eligible voters in Ontario don’t mind enslaving the next generation of Ontarians. Yikes. How will you ever pay for this?

  8. Mr. Newton, how can you connect the election with God I’ll never know. The two are unrelated and time for that to be accepted.

  10. Reverend
I seen a picture in email and I immediately thought about you.

How did Jesus find guys named Joseph, James, Peter in the middle east? and at that era

  11. Hugger1 – The Holy Scriptures are never out of date, that is your problem. Nations have come, nations have fallen, and the Word of God is still here. Men like Caesar, Stalin, Thomas Paine, and many other worse haters of the Word of God said they would see the Word of God thrown out in their day, but where are they now? The Word of God still here. It will out live you and I, if the Lord tarries, in His 2nd coming to Judge this Christ rejecting world.

1Pe 1:25 “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you”.

We think that we are in control, but God is the One who is the Sovereign Lord of the Heaven and earth – Dan 4:35 “And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?”

In the end God is going to give up the nations to Antichrist’s rule, and than we will see why the Antichrist is called the “Beast”. Rev 17:17 “For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled”. Just like the Word of God said!

  12. This just in! The Toronto Sun is reporting the Doug Ford (yes, that Doug Ford) is planning to replace Hudak as leader of the Cons! You can’t make this stuff up. He’s serious! He says the party needs an enema, and he’s the man to administer it! LOL LOL ROLF etc.

  13. @ Mr. Newton. I cut and pasted your above comment into an email and sent it to my niece in BC, who happens to be an ordained United Church minister. She blew coffee all over her keyboard! Made her day.

  14. Mr. Newton….my point was that not EVERYTHING revolves around religion. But somehow you seem to make everything about religion.

  15. Leadership convention should be interesting IF they can get anyone to run for The Cons leadership.

  16. Exactly ADMIN…the NDP and PC’s teamed up to create the opportunity for the Liberal majority. Lack of leadership from both parties was the deciding factor in handing the win to Wynne. A very strategic move by the Liberals gave them a majority with only about 39% of the popular vote.

Personally I believe that low voter turnout coupled with an apathetic public is weakening our democracy. In my opinion the Australians took a step in the right direction when they made voting in elections a civic duty subject to a fine if they did not vote.

  17. “But somehow you seem to make everything about religion” – I don’t, but God’s word does.

“my niece in BC – an ordained United Church minister”: 1Ti 2:11-12 “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to have authority over a man, but to be in silence”. So Furtz women being ordain is a no,no in God’s book. Not called of God, no blessing, but is “usurp authority over the man” just as Eve did in the garden, when she listen to the devil.

  18. Furtz one thing about CFN I sure enjoy reading your posts. I laugh so much that I am almost falling off my chair with laughter. I had a good laugh about how your niece took Pastor Newton’s comments but the only thing is that I agree fully with the Pastor. Yes we do need a room together. LOL LOL. ROLF! I wrote agreeing with the Pastor earlier but Jamie did not post it along with other things. I guess that I am only used as a comedy hour special.

  19. Furtz there was a strange feeling that I had about Doug Ford for a while now and I said to myself that it was either him or his brother Rob who was going to go for something in the conservatives. I couldn’t pinpoint what position but it was just a strange feeling. Now you pointed out that Doug will run for Hudak’s (who dat’s) job. Well I can say that you want to straighten out the books I would prefer Doug Ford over Hudak. I will tell you honestly Furtz that Ontario is bankrupt and that is the truth. If Doug Ford runs I may cast my ballot.

  20. @ Hailey Brown. Every Tom, Dick and Harry is named Jim (James) and Peter.

  21. Author

Ouch, now you’re in trouble Tom. 🙂

  22. So what makes Doug Ford better than any other politician? He’s a politician and you’ve said they’re all the same.

  23. Mr. Newton….maybe in your eyes it all revolves around God’s word. I think you’d have a hard time convincing others of that.

  24. Pastor Newton I agree with everything that you said from before when Furtz said that he sent what you said to his niece right up till now. I have never went against anything you quoted. Women are really taboo in the church and we have that in common and I am a woman. My husband feels the same way even about your quotes.

  25. Too funny Mr. Newton! So, everybody other than male born-again Baptists is on your god’s shit-list? Heaven must be a pretty lonely place.

  26. Furtz I had a very good laugh this evening while reading on “whatreallyhappened.com” which is Mike Rivero’s site for alternative news. On that site it literally had an article about “your sphaghetti monster” in Austria and honest to God I swear I had such a mighty good laugh thinking about you and Pastor Newton that I literally almost fell off my chair with so much laughter. You are a funny man but the reality of this is not funny at all – you make it funny. The strange things that you come out with at times – you beat me to the punch of laughter.

  27. @ Jules. Misogyny and bigotry are things that I despise more than anything in this world, whether they’re derived from a phony religion or otherwise. Whenever I express my true disgust for Mr. Newton and his incessant hatefulness, my comments are blocked. Therefore I sometimes resort to humour to make my point.

  28. Author

Furtz your and other people’s comments are generally blocked if they are a personal attack. It’s fine to not agree with someone. It’s fine to attack the point. It’s another to clobber each other. In my limited 20 years of message boards and comment sections that’s what ruins it. We have striven to create a safe environment where non-trollish comments can be made;sometimes on topic even so as to entertain and inform our very large audience of viewers.

There’s always room for improvement and no system is ever perfect; but I think that taking the good with the bad we do a pretty fair to middling job.

We’ve made some improvements this year that have actually reduced the overall amount of comments;but I have received compliments from viewers for the ones that are coming through. For every one of those like Stella who refused to adhere to our pseudonym policy there have been people like you who have made contributions to discussion on CFN.

And it’s interesting to see how so many of our posters actually have “fans” of their own including you and Jules, but I think Jules is our most popular by far. People actually email me when she stops posting for awhile. It’s crazy!

And if anyone has suggestions they can always email me at jamie@cornwallfreenews.com

  29. I have fans? Now, that boggles the mind!

  30. Furts writes “Heaven must be a pretty lonely place”. In fact that will not be the case at all, for The Lord Jesus Christ will be there with all His redeemed! For all that might be curious about Heaven, and what it is like – Read chapters four and five of the book of Revelation.

  31. According to The Flying Spaghetti Monster, the ONLY true god, Heaven has perpetual beer volcanoes and strippers.
That’s where I’ll be enjoying eternal bliss.

  32. The Libs will no longer need Horwath to prop up their fraudulent party! I hope you all get what you deserve.

All you liberal supporters should look at your children and grandchildren and tell them you are sorry for being greedy fraudulence supporters. Tell them the truth…they will have to pay for your greed! The FREELOADERS win again!

I know this will not be posted…the truth never gets to see the light of day when freeloaders are in control!

  33. Thank you Pastor about the Chap. 4 & 5 of the Book of Revelation. I have the KGV Bible nearby and will look it up.

Jamie Furtz and I must be very popular here but I don’t put someone down and come up with agreeing with people or knowing something and still don’t get put through. Futz and I seem to be something of a comedy act and not taken very seriously. I try my best to be serious but it doesn’t always come out that way. I have a real ball over Furtz and I say that seriously. If any of you ever saw how I am on this end I laugh myself to pieces. Furtz and I are entirely two different personalities and we rarely agree on anything and the same thing with Hugger. Everybody is completely different. I enjoy Pastor Newton’s quotes and I am not Baptist and an RC and boy are we different in denomination but I respect the man very much.

  34. Author

Jules as I’ve said to you perhaps keep the posts shorter and on topic. That’s all we really ask and of course no trashing each other.

  35. Jamie I try so hard to keep things short but it is so mighty difficult since my mouth runs away with my fingers on the keyboard. I can write a book but I have no talent in that line. I am no good at writing in English and if my former English teachers were here along with an old geography teacher from grade 9 I would literally fail English. LOL LOL.

  36. Why so bitter XscramblerX? The voters have spoken, and have decided against an American Tea-Party style of governance. I’m no fan or supporter of the Libs either, but with a relatively new leader and a fresh mandate, they might clean up their act and turn things around. And if the Cons choose a credible leader and develop some reasonable and moderate policies, they might have a shot at governing four years from now. The sky isn’t falling and the lights are still on.
@ Jules. I’m glad you are amused, but I’m really not that funny.

  37. Jamie you are a good man indeed and you do everything to keep us all in order but it is mighty hard for me believe me.

Furtz about people going to heaven nobody knows where we are heading to until judgement day and from what I gather from ministers of other Protestant churches than heaven will be made on earth and no mortals go to heaven. About Pastor Newton he is not a bad man at all an it is in the way that he was taught from childhood. Every religion is different and believe me they are all different. I have heard many things from my dad who was Anglican and our family was dysfunctional because of religion. Furtz Pastor Newton is very different in doctrine to myself but we believe so much in common and yet there still would be differences. I like and respect the man.

  38. Jules, I have already been judged by The Flying Spaghetti Monster, and He thinks I’m cool! In fact He thinks everybody is cool as long as they don’t spread hate and judge people for their beliefs. That’s good enough for me.

  39. Furtz you and I are entirely different in personalities but I love your humor. You are a good person in your own right just like I am and the rest of us. We have both good and bad in all of us. Honest Furtz you are funny and it is the truth. Just lately my husband put me on the net with his nephew who once lived with us back in the 80’s era and he said that I haven’t changed a bit. I was trying to show him some of my gray hair that he could see and we laughed. I don’t look much older from my mid 30’s and onwards and I am lucky in that respect. Maybe because I love to laugh and honestly this is the best paper in Cornwall and beyond.

  40. Jules write “About Pastor Newton he is not a bad man at all an it is in the way that he was taught from childhood”. Jules I was never taught about Christianity when I was little. Church, Bible was never seen in my family growing up. We were modern day pagans! I learned to drink, do drugs, steal, and be immoral to the hill. I remember my parents fighting that ended in a divorce when I was ten.

By the time the Lord got a hold of me I was living in L.A. in the process of starting a rock band. “Sex, drugs and rock and roll” was the only way I wanted to live, and to die. God in His mercy had other plans. here is a link to my personal testimony – http://www.timeforchrist.ca/Time%20for%20Fellowship/TESTomNewton.htm

Jules, I am a wicked sinner save by His wonderful grace, that is all.

  41. Furtz what Pastor Newton was talking about the “antichrist” was something that I was reading a while ago and you would be surprised who that would be. I have been doing a lot of searching and no wonder the Pastor won’t say anything to me being an RC. It is a complicated thing to put here and I knew about this for a while now and honestly I don’t know what to say. The Pastor is right on Furtz even though you may laugh and ridicule the man he is right.

  42. Pastor and Jamie I have the man’s name. I had to do a search to get it and here it is: John Todd. People look him up on youtube.com.

I will give you something to look into as well and everyone including Kanye West, Beyoncé and many many others are involved in this stuff. Here is something to read in print and there is plenty on the net:

    http://www.kt70.com/-jamesjpn/articles/john_todd

Jamie could you please post this for me thank you.

  43. And don’t election campaign signs have to be gone within 48 hours of the vote? I still see NDP and PC signs in Cornwall.

  44. Well Hugger the same thing is true right here in Ottawa with the Fiberals, the Cons, and the Dippers signs still up around here in Ottawa. Winnie has plans to balance the budget by 2017/18 so she will be busy sharpening her pencils with her finance person and they will be up burning the midnight oil trying to find a scheme of some sort but won’t touch their own humoungous salaries that I can guarantee. Many people may be pounding the pavement looking for work when she gets through.
