OPP Blotter for July 22, 2014 – FIRE STRIKES BUS NEAR UPPER CANADA VILLAGE

(South Dundas) – On July 21st, 2014 at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the westbound lanes of Highway 401, South Dundas Township (west of Upper Canada Road). Investigation indicated that an older style coach bus converted to a personal camper experienced an unknown malfunction resulting in the vehicle fire. Occupants (from Georgia, USA) escaped uninjured. As section of the westbound lanes were closed and traffic re-routed until approximately 7:00pm.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

(South Glengarry) – On July 21st, 2014 at approximately 10:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Andrea Avenue, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult female and her ex-boyfriend resulted in the male being assaulted.

The 20 year old female (from Saint-Lazare, Quebec) was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault-Spousal
– Being Intoxicated in a Public Place (Liquor Licence Act)

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on the criminal charge on August 12th, 2014.
(North Stormont) – On July 21st, 2014 at approximately 10:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Valley Street in the Village of Moose Creek, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had attended the residence of his ex-spouse and uttered threats. He was arrested a short time later without incident in the Casselman area. During the arrest, police located and seized an air pistol from the vehicle.

The 36 year old male (from Casselman, Ontario) is charged with;

– Utter Threats
– Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on August 12th, 2014.
