Meat Thefts in Cornwall Ontario Police Blotter for Thursday August 14, 2014 CPS

            Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on August 13th, 2014 and charged with breaching his probation order for communicating with someone that he has conditions not to and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on August 13th, 2014 police were called to attend the 200 block of Pitt Street in relation to a disturbance. Once in the area police found the man to be arguing with his 29-year-old girlfriend and breaching his conditions by being in her company. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as his conditions stem from a domestic incident and might identify the victim in the matter.

            Cornwall, ON – Chance Lafave-Benedict, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on August 14th, 2014 and charged with breaching his undertaking for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that during a traffic stop in the early morning hours of August 14th, 2014 the man was found to be out past curfew. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Christina Lafrance, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on August 13th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on August 13th, 2014 the woman attended a Ninth Street East grocery store and removed packages of meat making no attempts to pay for the items as she left the store. She was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on September16th, 2014.
