DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 27 year old Cornwall man was arrested on September 19, 2014. It is alleged that on March 26, 2014, he spit in the face of his common-law girlfriend during the course of an argument in their home. On September 19, 2014, while in their motor vehicle he threatened to run her side of the car into a pole. Once they were home, he threw one of her sets of keys away into the grass and another off the balcony. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The man was charged with Domestic Assault, Threats and Mischief. He was held for a Bail Hearing. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DOMESTIC THREATS

Cornwall, ON – A 32 year old Cornwall man was arrested on September 20, 2014. He is bound by four probation orders with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, abstain from alcohol, not associate with the victim and not attend a particular address in Cornwall. It is alleged that on this date he attended the residence he was not supposed to and threatened to kill his estranged common-law girlfriend. He then attended her residence. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The man was located and arrested a short time later. He was charged with Domestic Threats and seven counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DRUG OFFENCES

Cornwall, ON – Luc Lepage, age 31, of St Jerome, Quebec, was arrested on September 20, 2014. He is bound by Probation Orders and a Recognizance Order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and to abstain from having drugs in his possession. It is alleged that on this date, upon secondary examination by Canada Border Services Agency in Cornwall, he was found to be in possession of a quantity of three distinct Schedule 1 Drugs. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. Mr. Lepage was charged with three counts of Drug Possession, two counts of Breach of Recognizance and one count of Breach of Probation. He was held for a Bail Hearing.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 24 year old Cornwall woman was arrested on September 21, 2014. It is alleged that on this date she engaged in a verbal argument with her estranged common-law boyfriend which escalated to her pushing and shoving him. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The woman was charged with Domestic Assault. She was released to appear in court on October 21, 2014. Her name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

SD&G OPP

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Glengarry) – On September 19, 2014 at approximately 9:46pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on McDougald Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Cameron LYNDEN (65) of North Glengarry was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on October 1, 2014.
DISQUALIFIED DRIVER
(South Stormont) – On September 20, 2014 at approximately 4:57pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checks on Dickinson Drive in the Village of Ingleside, South Stormont Township. A check of a vehicle revealed the adult male driver’s driving privileges were disqualified stemming from a previous incident.

Michael WRIGHT (45) of Prescott, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving while Disqualified
– Driving while Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 16, 2014.
THEFT OF TRACTOR
(North Dundas) – Overnight (17-18Sep14), a tractor was stolen from a property on Country Lane in the Cloverdale Subdivision, North Dundas Township. It is described as; 2007 New Holland – model 2410, blue with a mounted front end loader unit (New Holland) – model 270TL. At the rear, the tractor was equipped with an orange box leveller/blade.

An investigation continues.
EXCESSIVE SPEEDS
(SD&G) – Over the past weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– September 19, 2014 – 9:23am; vehicle stopped on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township, speeding 175km/h (100km/h zone). Driver (info not yet available) charged accordingly.

– September 20, 2014 – 12:32pm; vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Stormont Township, speeding 166km/h (100km/h zone). 39 year old male driver from Winnipeg, Manitoba charged accordingly.

– September 20, 2014 – 6:50pm; vehicle stopped on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township, speeding 157km/h (100km/h zone). 19 year old female driver from South Glengarry charged accordingly.
