Child Luring in Morrisburg Ontario – SD&G #OPP Weekend Report Monday Oct 6, 2014

OPPLURING A MINOR
(South Dundas) – On October 5, 2014 SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of online incidents which occurred in the Village of Morrisburg, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that over the past several months, an adult male has repeatedly made contact with a female youth via online applications and telecommunication. The accused had attempted to lure the youth and uttered a threat. He was also in breach of conditions imposed from previous incidents.

The 38 year old male (from South Dundas Township) was arrested and is charged with;

– Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by Means of Telecommunication
– Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 years of age
– Uttering Threats
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER – MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
(South Stormont) – On October 3, 2014 at approximately 3:22pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Dafoe Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic had been westbound on Dafoe Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The lone adult male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.

Jean-Stephaneen LEPITRE (22) of Saint Lin Laurentides, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 14, 2014.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION – CHARGES LAID
(South Dundas) – On October 3, 2014 at approximately 11:44pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on South Branch Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation revealed that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted. Further details indicated historical assaults, threats and harassment over the past few months. Officers also seized a quantity of suspected marihuana from the home.

The 45 year old male was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault (4 counts)
– Assault with a Weapon (object thrown at victim)
– Uttering Threats
– Criminal Harassment
– Forcible Confinement
– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 21, 2014.

 

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
(North Glengarry) – On October 5, 2014 at approximately 9:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of County Road 34 and 21, North Glengarry Township.

Investigation indicated that a 2013 Dodge pick-up, driven by Dominic BRISSON (39) of Salabery-Valleyfield, Quebec was westbound on County Road 21 when the vehicle travelled through a stop sign and was struck by a 1998 Chevrolet pick-up, driven by a 42 year old male driver from South Glengarry, which was northbound on County Road 34. The 42 year old male was taken to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

BRISSON was charged with;

– Disobey Stop Sign (Highway Traffic Act)

A section of County Road 34 was closed to traffic for several hours as emergency personnel tended to the scene as well as a utility pole required repair after being struck by the Dodge.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
(South Glengarry) – Overnight (5-6 October, 2014), a vehicle was forcibly entered while parked at a property on Tyotown Road, South Glengarry Township. A quantity of “Frito Lay” products was removed from inside.

An investigation continues.
