Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Issue Statement Condemning Terror Attacks in Canada – Oct 24, 2014

ahmadiyyaThe Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada categorically and unequivocally condemns this morning’s terror attacks on the Canadian Parliament and the National War Memorial as well as on the Canadian soldiers in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. These are acts of heartless cowards and have no basis in any religion. Our thoughts and prayers are with the deceased and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the soldier who gave his life in today’s attacks in Ottawa as well as the soldier who was killed earlier in the week in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.

As Canadians, we pray that God Almighty protect all Canadians from harm and that these terrorists are brought to justice. The Khalifa of Islam, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has stated that Ahmadi Muslims should become Ambassadors of peace, and continue to influence others with their loyalty to their nation, love for mankind, and service to humanity. Mr. Lal Khan Malik, National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Canada, said,

“I’m shocked by these heinous attacks on the lives of those who dedicate themselves to protect our great nation.”

The message was sent by the local Cornwall group.

We, The  Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at [AMJ] (Community) in Cornwall, located at 341 Balmoral Ave. Cornwall, are extremely saddened by the incident that took place on the 22nd October 2014, and we fully condemn this heinous attacks on the lives of those who dedicate themselves to protect our great nation.

Our community head office in Toronto has issued a Press statement, copy of which is attached.

As Canadians, we pray that God Almighty protect all Canadians from harm and that these terrorist are brought to justice.

On behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Cornwall.
Azizullah – Member of the AMJ Cornwall & Acting President.

About Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at: Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans more than 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

  1. The people of Cornwall and the people of Canada are in mourning just now and my husband is a Lebanese Christian Maronite and after being married for 40 years I got to understand enough of his culture and I do thank you for your kind words. The people of Cornwall do not understand about Islamic people nor do non Muslims and they don’t know the difference between the good Muslims and the bad ones. The man that murdered the CPl as well as the one who ran over the two military men in Québec were terrorists and the lowest kind of person that walked the earth. I truly don’t think that Islam will be looked at in the same way again especially with ISIS and the likes of that around in the world today and the wars will go on for a mighty long time to come. Canadians, Americans, Aussies and everywhere else see Muslims in general as terrorists and you and I both know that it isn’t so but those who take the Koran out of context just like a Christian would take the Bible out of context and make it as their own. We have Islamic friends and my husband’s sister worked with a wonderful man who knelt down like a Christian in my husband’s church in Lebanon when his father died and he was a very good friend of the family. We miss him a great deal and he passed away many years ago and wish that there were more people like him.

  2. So, now the people are ignorant about Islamics and Muslims? Pleassssee. I think we know the differences between home-grown terrorists and foreign born terrorists. Cornwall is not a backwards hick town. Some people may think we are, but we are not.

  3. Don’t believe a word they say.

Psalm 55:21 “The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords”.

  4. Jules the only people that are ignorant are those that choose to be. The Muslim population stands at approximately 23% of the world population by most accounts. The majority are Sunni. The Salafist Jhadis comprise only 1% or somewhere between 10-20 million Muslims depending on which source you trust, These are the extremists that comprise, if you will, the majority of the terrorist movement. Afghanistan,Bosnia and Iraq experienced these jhadists. Al Qaeda is a Salfist Jhadis group. Suffice to say that the 99% of Muslims and all other religious groups are all at odds with this extremist group.

The situation is complex and the solutions are not clear but the threat is real and the world must remain united and undaunted by the intimidation. We must stand united Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and everyone else.

  5. Pastor Tom do you think there have ever been bad things happen in the name of Christianity? Have you studied the Crusades? Witch hunts? I could go on a great length on this matter but I believe you get my point.

Better to stick to that which you know then paint all with the same brush. Don’t be guilty of tossing stones. Peace bother, peace.

  6. Meant to say peace brother, peace.

  7. David, it’s much easier to hate, and to spread hate about all of them than it is to learn about them. Some people like to keep things simple.

  8. David – you forget to understand and keep it in the forefront of your mind. It is not Christianity that has to defend itself, or clarify it’s actions, is it? It was not Christianity that murder that soldier there in Ottawa!

  9. Furtz and I might argue about Floride but when it comes to stopping irrational Hatred we agree.
Pastor Tom and Stellabystarlight want to label people and if you don’t agree send you packing from Canada
The Germans used the same type of hate machine against Jews before WWII
I for one am not jumping on this all Muslims are jihad’s/killers/or just plain bad bandwagon
    Its not Canadian
    Mel
PS Both these killers should have been in mental health wards

  10. Author

no Tom, but it may have been our PM trying to puff his chest out that did.

  11. Admin – it’s not politics it’s religion. The secular West has not a clue to the Holy War that the Muslims are ragging against us infidels. They will not stop until Sharia rules, and we are forced to obey or die. It is not hatred, it is just an honest acknowledge of the historical facts and the goal of Islam. As long as Israel has an inch of land, and as long as the West supports a free Israel in any way, expect all out war – jihad!

  12. I really should resist the temptation to react to bigotry and hateful garbage like that, but should it be ignored? When someone seems compelled to spout hate towards so many groups of people so often, should we just write him off as a miserable nut-bar, or should he be confronted? I know he will probably never change and will probably keep at it for the rest of his life. Sad, really.

Furtz I think your challenge is to engage in what you perceive to be hate as opposed to engage in whom you believe to be the hater.

  14. I was thinking it was too quiet on here and look who pops back in to stir things up.

  15. I know what hate is Jamie. In fact, there are people I despise with a passion. The difference is that I reserve that honour for individuals who I know. Spewing crap about huge segments of the population based on their religion or sexual orientation etc, is a whole different matter. In any case, we’ve had this discussion before, so probably best to leave it at that.

  18. Sorry Pastor Tom but I see nothing christian in your actions
Just hope that nobody takes you seriously and starts to strike out at people in this area. Already in Coldlake alberta people defaced a mosque
Pastor if there was a god he would be taking you out to the woodshed for your attacks on Muslims and Gays

  19. Melman – from your apparent lack of Biblical insight into what the Bible says (what God declares)about sins, and sinful lifestyles, and false religions, your evaluation of my Christianity almost falls into the same place as dear Dr. Furtz – file 13(the waste basket).

Furtz – if I would think as you think, then among the Nazis, there would be a few good Nazis. The same would go for the Communists – among the Communists, there are a few good Communist. I could go as far as to say (hold on to you seat) among the pedophiles, there are a few good pedophiles. Now this would all be true if I thought like you. Thank God, God in His grace has enable me to think differently from the mindset of this lost and dying world.

  20. Yes Mr Newton. Some of my best friends are pedophiles.
    You are priceless!

  21. Furtz….funny, but not funny. But I have to agree with you when it comes to Mr. Newton.

  22. Hugger, the funny thing is that I have a near and dear family member who works his butt off on an RCMP child exploitation team busting predatory pedophile perverts. And a good number of them are bible-thumpers.

  23. “Yes Mr Newton. Some of my best friends are pedophiles”. – that doesn’t say much for your morals? I thought the spaghetti god would have higher standards then that? I guess not.

  24. It’s not nice to say that someone has a thick skull, so I won’t.

  25. Hey Furtz I did not realize that Pastor Tom believed in multiple gods! He just acknowledged the existence of the “Spaghetti Monster”! How can he claim to be a Christian and at the same time acknowledge the existence of more than one?

The simple conclusion Furtz is therefore rather elementary, he is an imposter!

  26. Pastor Tom you have lost all credibility and it will be a long journey facing you to return, but do not loose faith. May all your gods be with you, now and always.

  27. Oh and Pastor Tom this and all other acts of terrorism (salafist jhadis) are very much the politics of religion. On this topic they are interchangeable terms focused on power.

  28. The Trinity, Pastor Tom, is the concept of one god in three persons but being of one essence. Simply illustrated consider the following; 1x1x1=1. What was your point here Pastor Tom? Was it to make me appear ignorant of the basic concept of Christianity?

  29. Truth be told, there are billions of gods, and each one exists in the imagination of individuals who believe in such things.

  30. Furtz Arthur C. Clarke wrote a short story titled The Nine Billion Names of God (1953) a must read in the science fiction world. An interesting concept to say the least.

  31. Just reminded myself of another related concept written also in short story form by Isaac Asimov in 1956 entitled The Last Question. A worthy read as well.
