This afternoon, the Ottawa Police Traffic Enforcement and Escort Unit will have the honour of escorting Corporal Nathan Cirillo as he begins his journey to his hometown of Hamilton.
The escort will begin at 1:00pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel located at 1411 Hunt Club Road, near the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Bank Street.
The escort will proceed westbound on Hunt Club and onto the 416 southbound and is estimated to take 45 minutes.
The OPP Golden Helmets will assume control of the escort at Bankfield Road.
Ottawa Police will be ensuring traffic safety for rolling road closures at key intersections and overpasses.
Traffic delays can be expected along the route.
