At Least One More River Kings Home Game As LNAH to take Over Team Monday Night by Jamie Gilcig DEC 5, 2014

Brock-TRUCK-800x450CFN – According to team and league officials Cornwall River Kings owner and city councilor Brock Frost is spending his last weekend as team owner.

League officials will be taking over the team as of Monday with Mr. Frost covering costs for this weekends home and away games.

The team even has cut the ticket price down to $8 for Saturday’s game at the Civic Complex.

Mitch Gagne who has been with all incarnations of the River Kings is attempting to put an ownership syndicate together.

This newspaper has also extended an offer of assistance to the new owners as Cornwall deserves to keep this team and can support it if given good ownership that will pull the community together instead of allowing those that would divide it sway in its management and day to day functioning.

We’ll be updating this story and Darren Madden is still not saying anything.

I’m hoping Mitch Gagne can put a solid ownership group together. He seems to really care about the RK’s. He’s been involved with the team through all it’s ownership issues and problems. And good on CFN for offering assistance to the team. This community needs to pull together instead of trying to go in individual ways.

Agreed. This constant pulling in all different directions is not good for the city or the RK’s. It’s time the city pulled together, like we sort of did during the election.

That is very good of you Jamie and I wish that people would come out and support you and see the good person that you are and I mean that. There is way too much division in Cornwall with a backward mentality that has to change and as long as they don’t change then good things will not happen. Jamie I am very proud of all what you have accomplished and that comes from my heart and soul. It sure isn’t easy dealing with people. I hope that the team finds owners that will stick otherwise it will die off.

Admin I have a considerable amount of respect for your sense of community, it clearly comes from a good place. Thank you.

Mr. Oldham this has been Cornwall’s problem for a mighty long time is not being inclusive to others and they went right down the hill and today it shows. Jamie is a mighty good man and I said this over and over again like a broken record but I mean it. Jamie has travelled a lot and is from Montreal and Los Angeles and has never been truly accepted in Cornwall. I said before that I would throw my support behind Leslie because he is local born and raised and I know their backward mentality and Leslie is a good… Read more »

I’m finding I’m agreeing with Jules more and more. There is plenty wrong with Cornwall. Hopefully the new mayor and council can start to fix these things.

I agree with you Hugger and hope that Leslie can help straighten out a lot of the mess. Hugger Jamie’s idea of an art centre happens to be a very good idea and I have researched a little where some small cities have an arts centre even those bigger than Cornwall like 68K. Cornwall has stayed well behind and I hope that Leslie comes through and sifts through everything and helps make the proper changes – he is a good man.

I`m hoping that if as new ownership group is put together for the River Kings the city will be smart enough to help them if they can. A few hours of ice time for practice would be nice. The team and city needs something after having Brock Frost as “owner.”

I was at the RiverKings game last night and spoke briefly with Mitch. He says that he’s got people interested but until they come up with a signature and money, he’s not sure.I’ve talked to people who’ve ordered jerseys from the RiverKings and have paid but have yet to receive the jerseys, the will be attending to City Hall tomorrow evening to face Brock about getting their refunds. I plan on being at City Hall also to see if the Brock will show up or call in SICK

Like someone said: What a brock of shi ” and I sure do agree with that person. You will not see Frosty showing up and if he does he will have the paramedics on the line to come for him for the rescue. Cornwall is full of this kind of people and it is a real soap opera one that is real and you just cannot put down. Jamie you are going to have one hell of a best seller on your hands. LOL LOL. ROLF!
