CORNWALL Ontario – River Kings fans wanting to go see today’s away game will be disappointed as the game will be rescheduled if a new ownership group comes to be.
Last night’s 8-0 loss may be the last chapter in the brief history that was the Cornwall River Kings. League officials have not responded to our latest queries.
Owner Brock Frost was nowhere to be seen(or Darren Madden) and angry players found out that they would not be paid for today’s away game as had been promised.
The crowd, estimated at less than 800, actually passed the bucket and $1,500 or so was donated to the players again showing the support and love that this city’s residents have for the team and sport.
Angry fans will be going to City Hall Monday night(and from what this writer is hearing a few players too) to see if Mr. Frost shows up.
CFN spoke to a few of our elected officials off the record and they are stunned and amazed. None could imagine would could be possibly done to Mr. Frost if all of the recent allegations turn out to be true. One joked that he hopes to sit as far away from him as possible.
Some fans said they would not attend any games until Mr. Frost was clear of the team. CFN learned though that some of the potential new investors in the club were dismayed by the low turnout.
We will update this saga as more information becomes available.

So River King fans. Do you think Mr. Frost will show up at Monday night’s 7 PM council meeting at 7 PM? Will he be asked to take a leave of absence until his legal woes are sorted out? You can post your comment below.
League officials confirmed that the game is officially not being played. They are having a league meeting Monday night.
It also was reported that Mr. Frost tried to cash in his bond on the team.
Steve Simoes, River Kings captain took a shot at Mr. Frost at last night’s game.
Sadly Mr. Simoes or any other of the boys won any of their fist battles either.
