Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on January 14th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on January 6th, 2015 for an assault charge and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On January 14th, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on February 10th, 2015. Her name was not released as the initial charge stem from a domestic incident and might identify the victim.

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Sean Herdman, 54 of Cornwall was arrested on January 13th, 2015 and charged with breach of recognizance for failing to report a change of address. It is alleged that on January 9th, 2015 police attempted to speak with the man and found that he had moved without notifying police. On January 13th, 2015 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Dean Pettinella, 35 of Long Sault was arrested on January 13th, 2015 and charged with breach of probation for having consumed alcohol, breaching curfew, being in a place where alcohol is sold, being in possession of a cell phone and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on January 13th, 2015 police attended a Pitt Street bar for an unrelated matter and found the man breaching his conditions. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

POSSESSION STOLEN PROPERTY, BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Tristan Williams, 28 of Ottawa was arrested on January 14th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on July 11th, 2014 police attended the Cornwall Port of Entry to investigate a possible possession of stolen property call. It is alleged that the man was found to be in possession of a ring that was later determined to be stolen and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 14th, 2015 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended Ottawa to assume custody of the man as Ottawa Police Service had the man in custody on Cornwall’s warrants. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

SD&G OPP

FAIL TO REMAIN AT COLLISION
(North Dundas) – On January 14, 2015 at approximately 4:23pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of motor vehicle collision on County Road 1 and Nelson Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a passenger vehicle was rear-ended by a pick-up truck as it made a turn. The truck left the scene prior to police arrival.

The truck is described as a white, full-sized dually (dual rear wheels) diesel pick-up truck. Front end damage should be evident. It was last seen travelling south towards the South Mountain area. An investigation continues.

DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(South Stormont) – On January 13, 2015 at approximately 9:07pm, SD&G OPP officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 138, South Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Andre BEDARD (31) of Riviere Beaudette, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 30 Grams – Cannabis Marihuana
– Drive Motor Vehicle, no Currently Validated Permit (Highway Traffic Act)
– Fail to Notify Change of Address – Licence (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and scheduled to appear (drug charge) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 10, 2015.
THEFT OF BOAT TRAILER

(South Glengarry) – On January 13, 2015, SD&G OPP began an investigation into a reported theft of a boat trailer from the Creg Quay Marina, 80th Avenue, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that between January 5-13, 2015, a red 1992 TH915 Hydraulic Boat Trailer was removed from the property.
