Local Police Confirm Grizzly Cat Abuse Incident at Brookdale Arms in Cornwall Ontario – JAN 20, 2015

OSPCA CAT Jan 20 2015CORNWALL Ontario – Some local residents were shocked and upset after finding a gruesome discovery in a garbage bin at the Brookdale Arms Apartment complex.

One was allegedly beaten to death and one cat is fighting for its life after being delivered to the local OSPCA which has not responded to queries as of press time.

Cornwall Community police confirmed to CFN that they visited 1451 Brookdale regarding a complaint of animal abuse and delivered  a cat to a local animal hospital.

Brad Dewar from the OSPCA said that he’d issue a statement as soon as he had detailed information to provide.

The cat is under veterinarian care. It was not expected to make it through the night, but has, and is under care.  The OSPCA is working with the CCPS and the ongoing investigation will continue.

  1. The Brookdale Arms is a dump and welfare people and none should have pets nor children. This is a mighty sick society and believe me Cornwall is well renowned for being a mentality sick place to live.

  2. That’s a pretty broad brush you wield Jules. Lots of people on social assistance are fine parents and pet owners. Not everybody has been as lucky as you and me.

  3. Jules, Jules, Jules….

  4. Author

I have to agree with Hugger on this one….

  5. It’s interesting how people with deeply held religious beliefs can’t resist judging people they don’t even know.

  6. Jamie, it’s hard to comment here on the stories when the first comment is always putting me, and my family down because of where i live. This is a story i would like to discuss, but as usual, i’m upset with TWO things now. You know we hear a lot of crazy stuff come out of ottawa too. Like the drunken school bus driver. Does that mean commenters here from ottawa are all low life degenerates?

  7. Its also possible that someone dropped them in the dumpster who aren’t even from Brookdale Arms .

  8. Jules, blaming an apartment building and calling all tenants welfare people and that they should not have pets or children clearly indicates your complete lack of knowledge and empathy. Not every person on welfare are lowlifes or anything of the sort. I happen to know several people who live there. Some may be down on their luck as it were ,yet they are still wonderful parents and add to our community. You close your comment with a mis-spelling I assume of the word mentally…saying as I understand that Cornwall is known as a “mental” place to live…I can only say I will pray for you as you have an extremely hard heart and maybe its time for you to get another hobby instead of writing such nonsense here…Shame on you!!

Jerry here’s how it works. People are entitled to their opinions. Sometimes they are goofy. Sometimes they are wrong. We can’t just allow those we agree with or those we think are right. Can you imagine for example if I responded to each of the over 40,000+ comments on CFN? Sometimes we choose to challenge a comment, but most times the best thing to do on the net is simply ignore the comments we don’t agree with which is sometimes why you see comments on CFN trashing myself or this newspaper. Part of it is about supporting true Free Speech and part of it is exposing the bad guys.

  10. Jules…..yes …for sure …some of us have had sickening lives in cornwall …and I understand completely….whoever did this is really bad…heartless……..and yes….sometimes cornwall is mentally ill……its the place………. and I dare say it…..because I’ve lived the city’s filth……but give the welfare recipients a break…..cornwall should creat more jobs and keep striving for the change that is happening….Thank God……go Jules….you are a wonderful person and your opinion is important ..because …i agree ….the lowlife is abundant in the city..the proof is in the size of the police force in cornwall……educate and help these poor lost bastards…..

  11. That’s not fair. As someone who frequents the dark web through tor browser, i know how to ignore people and that they can say what they want. I didn’t even mention the posters name and almost never do. Because i’m not trying to make it personal. However, every story here no matter how trivial becomes a people of Cornwall bashing comment by that person. Getting very old and annoying. We should be discussing the animals that were abused, not people economical situation, and blanket statementing a whole city. I saw you this morning walking by the library on second and sydney at 7:40a.m. If i yell derogatory statements at you everytime i see you, is that free speech? Yell stuff at you because of what other people have said about you and i claim it’s just my opinion? I think that would get very annoying to you, even though i have the right to my opinion. But whatever, I know i’ll never be right here.

  12. It must be difficult screening the endless comments coming in. When commenters trash whole segments of society based on their sexual orientation, religion (or lack thereof), or financial status etc, it almost borders on hate speech. But it’s still just an opinion, as twisted as it may be. The line between hate speech and fair comment (opinion) is a blurry one.

  13. This is a very tragic incident, but has nothing to do with the area or who lives in it. This has more to do with a sick individual who desperately needs help before this is done to someone. As they say, killers are known to start out with the torture of animals first and then progress to humans. My heart goes out to those poor kittens, but the focus is to find the person(s) that committed this heinous act.

  14. I agree with Jerry in regard to the Cornwall bashing that happens here.

  15. Animal cruelty is everywhere.

  16. I am still waiting for Jules apology. She has a lot to say, sometimes too much and all too often to denigrate our people, our politician’s, our media, our infrastructure and just about anything and anyone that pops our of her little head.
Perhaps it is time for Jules and others to start looking towards the positives of Cornwall.
So Jules, how about finding ‘facts’ that can help our citizens lift up their heads, to be proud of their environment, their new mayor and council……sure there will be bumps in the road, but for God sacks give them time to show their love and concern on behalf of ‘all’ the people of Cornwall, not just a few who skirt the game plan.

OK JULES, A TALL ORDER I KNOW BUT THE FLOOR IS NOW YOURS, OR SIMPLY QUIT PUTING US DOWN WITH EVERY STROKE OF YOUR MOUTH, ER, PEN.

  17. Just curious as to why people that comment negatively don’t use their real name????? I guess if I never had anything constructive or intelligent to say. I’d do the same!!!

  20. I am very upset by what happened to these cats… but that doesn’t give one the right to bash others or Cornwall. There still are alot of very good people who live here! As for Brookdale Arms. I happen to know of two very sweet old ladies who live there…and another on a disability pension…. not all “welfare” people… and as for “welfare people”, there are many good people on welfare… just out of work, down on their luck…. Its sad that there are a percentage who abuse the system…but that is everywhere…not just in Cornwall! This crime and many others has nothing to do with low income or as you call it “welfare” people.. It has to do with a very disturbed person or people…. This has to do with that person or people’s frame of mind, personality, upbringing…. but has nothing to do with their financial situation…

  21. There’s so many people at the Brookdale arms that aren’t on welfare and aren’t scum…

  22. Moved up from cornwall to Fort McMurray ab April 2014. Been following cfn since then and I will say that I’m very tired of Jules negative comments. This first comment from jules has gone overboard. We get it Jules. You hate cornwall now you need to get a real life. Jamie time to get Jules a toy to play with. Again Jules We Get It. Question is……..Do You Get It ??? Take jules off comment site and I will send my subscription cheque. It’s called Freedom of speech not freedom of idiots.

  23. Marc Lalonde….Some of us use pseudonyms for various reasons. My own being that my wife works for a local municipality and I will not have her career suffer due to anything I say.

I too am tired of Cornwall always being knocked down, by people that live here and people that don’t live here. How about finding something positive for a change?

I’ve never been to the Brookdale Arms, but it looks like a nice place. It does not look like a “dump’ as suggested by another commenter.

  24. Only you PTN could turn a story about animal cruelty around to something you want to discuss, abortion.

This story is about animal cruelty, NOT abortion!!

  25. Marc Cloutier….yes, I think the first comment from Jules was a little overboard. Will she apologize? I somehow doubt it.

  26. wow Jules, how about you do a great service to Cornwall and move and take your narrow mind and black heart with you. It is people like you that make a city erode. I am sure if you did do us all a favor and moved you would find the next City you moved to the same way because you would be looking at it with the same judgmental, ignorant attitude. I will pray for you so the good Lord will open your eyes, soften your heart, and bridal your tongue. This story was about animal abuse and the first post is you bashing not only Cornwall but specifically ALL the tenants that call Brookdale Arms their home. You are a hate monger, people with your outlook on life is what is wrong with this City.

  27. “This story is about animal cruelty, NOT abortion” – but according to political correctness and to what the secular humanist believe, are we not all animals? So what kind of animal society puts more value on lower species than themselves? A specie doomed to extinction!!

Rom 1:31 “Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful” . “Without natural affection” – infanticide!

  28. Sandra Campeau….Jules lives in Ottawa, not Cornwall.

  29. PTN….please get over it. This is a stry about animal cruelty. Stop trying to twist and turn every story to fit your agenda.

    Hi Everyone,

I just wish to remind people that it’s ok to debate a point, but please do not attack each other personally. Some times it’s easier to ignore a comment than respond.

You can also pay via e interac transfer to info@cornwallfreenews.com VIP subscription donations of $250 or more per year (less than $1 per day) get you local event tickets and other swag as it becomes available.

  31. ” Please do not attack each other personally ” that’s all I read from Jules is her attacking cornwallit and the city. I have friends that live in low income housing and work and contribute to society and take great care of their children or pets. That’s some paint brush you carry around with you Jules. Just figured it out Jules that your some how related to Frosty the Con Man. Your mouth shots off before your brain filters. Lol..Lol…Rolf. Want my subscription? You know what you have to do CFN. ” Sometimes it’s easier to ignore a comment than to respond “. Dont get it CFN. I thought you were all about changing the cultured minds of cornwall. 🙈🙉🙊

  32. Author

No Marc, I don’t want your subscription if it’s based on what you are asking for. We don’t operate that way. If you don’t appreciate CFN that is your choice. Just remember, if you don’t appreciate what you have while you do one day you may not have it.

  33. JULES: Sorry to burst your bubble,I live there & I do work & not everyone that lives here is not on welfare, disability or some sort social assistance, they are very nice apts & a majority of the people are very respectable people, that being said it is irrelevant for you to disrespect the people who live there, the issue, is a poor cat that was abused. So please get your facts right before you open your mouth.

  34. We are different than the rest of life on this planet by virtue that we have the ability to reason. This sets us apart Pastor Tom. Being kind is an act that only a human can accomplish as it requires the ability to reason. As far as abortion is concerned our ability to reason, to have free will leads of to the ability to make choices. My choices may not be yours and if you believe your bible Pastor Tom then you understand that it is not yours to judge me. Care to debate me on this? I would welcome the challenge.

  35. No problem Jamie. Keep YOUR CLIQUE of negative followers. I finally realized that your no better then the ones you seek out to destroy. A little too ” DOUBLE STANDARD ” for me.

  36. Author

You’re entitled to your opinion Marc which as you can see has been posted as well. There are those that would not have your post up the same as Jules. Enjoy FT Mac. Cheers

  37. David, animals certainly are capable of being kind. I see it regularly on my farm where animals can and do provide care and comfort to other animals that might be sick or injured. The notion that humans are superior to other animals is a myth.

  38. Author

Furtz animals also eat each other, sometimes eat their young, and even eat poop….

  39. David – you misunderstand the office of a preacher. I don’t judge, I just declare what the Judge of all the earth has written. If declaring the Truth offends you, get right with God.

It is never a matter of debate! The same reasoning was put to the Lord Jesus – Luke 20:2 “And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?”. So your argument and apparent distaste for the Word of God shows clearly your hatred for God, and His Christ, and His Word.

So as to the choice of abortion or not, God will judge everyone who slays “innocent blood”. He is in fact judging this Christ rejecting society already – “…and God gave them up to a reprobate mind”. A “reprobate mind” is a mind that has no common insight into truth, and what is right from wrong”.

There is forgiveness of sins from God, but acknowledgement of sin unto repentance is the only true sign that God has accepted you and forgiven you of such wicked crimes against the innocent unborn. And God only forgives because of what His Son accomplished on the Cross – no other way, but by faith in Him!

  40. Furtz – “The notion that humans are superior to other animals is a myth” – did the spaghetti god reveal this to you, or did you come up with this “myth” all by yourself? Oh mighty oracle! Prophesy unto us!

    “A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?”(Jer 5:30-31).

  41. Actually Jules my brother in law found the cat in the dumpster and he does live in Brookdale arms, no he’s not on welfare like you claim everyone that lives there is! My brother in law has a full time job and worked all his life, he was actually on his way to work when he heard a cat crying and he was also the one who climbed in the dumpster to get the poor cat out! So before you judge Brookdale arms or even cornwall itself look around it happens everywhere.. Believe it or not even in Ottawa. So thanks to my brother in-law, sister, police and the vet that cat is alive today! 🙂 educate yourself before judging other people.

  43. Absolutely agree Jamie. Animals can be very cruel to each other as well. And they sometimes do kill their young. Just like some humans.

  44. Thank you Tammy. Well said. WOW Jules………cat bite your tounge. I’m still waiting too Dave.

  45. Actually, Newton, most myths, like the ones you constantly spout can be dispelled with simple observation and a bit of common sense.

  46. I know some fabulous and hard working people who live at the Brookdale Arms apartment complex. Jules knows how to start a ruckus 🙂

  48. I dont normally do this but I left sitting here shaking my head.HOW DID A STORY ABOUT 1 CAT BEING BEATEN TO DEATH AND ANOTHER FIGHTING FOR ITS LIFE TURN INTO A STORY ABOUT WHERE PEOPLE LIVE? Reality of life is people are going to always judge other people. Another reality of life is that EVERYDAY some animal is being abused or killed by people from all walks of life. Lets get back to the point of the original story.
