Cornwall, ON – Mathieu Lamarche, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on January 20th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on January 3rd, 2015 the man attended an Elm Street residence and sprayed two male occupants with an offensive volatile substance. Police were contacted to investigate and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On January 20th, 2015 the man was located at a Seventh Street address, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2015 and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on January 20th, 2015 the man attended his 30-year-old girlfriend’s apartment and during an argument struck her with a broom and left with her cell phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was located, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 20th, 2015 and charged with assault. It is alleged that during an argument on January 20th, 2015 with his 17-year-old girlfriend the man punched her on the head. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 17th, 2015. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

The Ottawa Police Service is at scene at St-Laurent Blvd and Joseph Cyr Street and asking the public to avoid the area.
A call for service was received on January 20, 2015 at approx. 10:15pm about a possible threat.
CBRNE and HAZMAT attended the scene to investigate a threat made by a suspicious male who had possibly checked in at the Chimo Hotel located in the 1100 block of Joseph Cyr.
The Hotel was evacuated as a safety precaution. The Police investigation continues.
Road closures are in effect as follows:
- 174 St-Laurent off ramp is closed;
- Joseph Cyr Street is closed from Cyrville Road to Lemieux Street;
- Lemieux Street is closed at St-Laurent Blvd;
- Labelle Street is closed from Lemieux Street to Michael Street;
- Michael Street is closed from Cyrville Road to Labelle Street.

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has charged a man and a woman after Patrol officers arrested two suspects following an early morning robbery of a gas bar attendant on Montreal Road today.
At approximately 1:05am, a lone male suspect entered a gas bar kiosk situated along the 500 block of Montreal Road. The suspect produced a handgun and made a demand for cash. The clerk refused to comply and the suspect fled the premises empty handed to a waiting vehicle with a female driver. The victim was able to note the description of the vehicle and provide it to Police.
The vehicle was located by Patrol officers a short time later. A high risk vehicle stop was initiated and the two suspects were arrested without incident. There were no injuries.
Muhammad AZIZ, 24 years old, and Amina ASHRAF (f), 19 years old, both of Ottawa, are charged jointly with:
- Attempt to commit an indictable offence
- Conspiracy to commit and indictable offence
Mr. Aziz is additionally charged with:
- Pointing a firearm
- Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Wearing a disguise
Both are scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2015.
The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges following a yesterday’s bank robbery yesterday in the 2300 block of St. Joseph Blvd in Orleans.
On January 19, 2015, at approximately 4:35pm, a lone male suspect entered the bank, pulled a neck warmer over his face and then made repeated verbal demands for cash. No weapon was seen. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect was arrested by responding Patrol officers a short distance away without incident.
Trevor PRATT, 30 years old, of Ottawa, is charged with one count of Robbery and one count Wearing a disguise. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 20, 2015.
