Cornwall, ON – Jamie Contant, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on January 31st, 2015 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on January 31st, 2015 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle in the area of Second Street and Lefebvre Street while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 12th, 2015.

 

Cornwall, ON – Brennan McDonald, 20 of North Lancaster was arrested on January 31st, 2015 and charged with impaired operation and over 80. It is alleged that on January 31st, 2015 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle in the area of Thirteenth Street and Lesieux Street while under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 10th, 2015.

 

ASSAULT

Cornwall, ON – A 21-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 1st, 2015 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on February 1st, 2015 during an argument with his 21-year-old girlfriend the man punched her in the face and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

PROJECT PARADIGM IS A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TEAM COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

(Carleton Place, Ontario) – On Thursday, January 29, 2015, the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), OPP Drug Enforcement Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP East Regional Support Team, and Carleton Place OPP Detachment members conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation and executed a Search Warrant at a residence on High Street, Carleton Place, Ontario.

Police located and seized a large number of prescription drugs, cocaine, over $5200 Canadian currency, and drug related paraphernalia used for trafficking purposes. The large amount of prescription drugs included Oxycodone, Hydromorphone, Fentanyl patches, and Morphine with an approximate street value of over $45,000.

As a result of this investigation, 46 year old, Laura Katherine THOMPSON, 68 year old Richard THOMPSON and 24 year old TinaSMITH,  all of Carleton Place, ON are charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance (5 counts)

Laura THOMPSON was held in custody for a show cause hearing on January 30th, 2015. Richard THOMPSON and Tina SMITH were released from custody on a Promise to Appear and Officer In Charge Undertaking with their first appearance date scheduled for March 23rd, 2015. All will be appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice, Perth.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [GRENVILLE COUNTY (Kemptville)] Local Couple Charged In Drug Warrant 2015-01-30

(Kemptville, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police have charged a local couple with numerous drug related charges.

Shortly after 7:00 a.m. on January 30th, 2015, members of Grenville County OPP Crime Unit and the East Region Drug Enforcement Team attended 2 – 132 Prescott Street, Kemptville to execute a drug warrant.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 549.8 grams of marihuana, 91.1 grams of cocaine, 12.5 grams of MDMA, 207 hydro morphone pills and Canadian currency. The two occupants were arrested at the scene and transported to Kemptville OPP detachment.

Derek James Robert CROWELL, age 29 of Kemptville is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking- cannabis marihuana, possession of a Schedule l substance for the purpose of trafficking –  MDMA , possession of a Schedule l substance for the purpose of trafficking –  hydro morphone pills, possession of property obtained by crime – Canadian currency under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of recognizance.

Megan VOGELGESANG, age 22 of Kemptville is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking- cannabis marihuana, possession of a Schedule l substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA, possession of a Schedule l substance for the purpose of trafficking – hydro morphone pills, possession of property obtained by crime – Canadian currency under $5,000.

Derek CROWELL and Megan VOGELGESANG are being held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Brockville.

Attempted Murder/Robbery/Discharge of a Firearm @ 1400 Block of Morisset Avenue

 

Ottawa – As a result of the investigation that commenced on the morning of January 31st, 2015, three persons have been charged with a total of 33 criminal charges. The handgun believed to have been used in this shooting incident was seized as the result of the execution of a search warrant at 1411 Morisset Avenue.

Abdirachid MOHAMED, 25 years of Ottawa has been charged with 11 firearms-related offences.

Melissa Labranche, 28 years of Ottawa has been charged with 8 firearms-related offences and one count of failure to comply with the conditions of a Recognizance.

A 17 year old youth, also of Ottawa has been charged with 8 firearms-related offences, as well as one count each of attempted murder, robbery, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with the conditions of an Undertaking.
