Brother Bashing Leads to Blues – Police Blotter for Cornwall Ontario – MARCH 18, 2015 #CCPS

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 17th, 2015 and charged with assault, mischief and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that during an argument with his 27-year-old brother on March 17th, 2015 the man struck his brother in the face and caused damage to a wall. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 16th, 2015. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000

 

Cornwall, ON – Rene Lang, 44 of Cornwall was arrested on March 17th, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on March 17th, 2015 the man entered a Ninth Street store and selected a set of taps making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. He was stopped by the loss prevention officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 16th, 2015.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 18th, 2015 and charged with breaching his undertaking for being out past curfew, not abiding by the rules of the residence and being in contact with someone that he has conditions not to associate with. He was also charged with breaching his probation order for consuming alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that the youth was dealt with by police on two occasions while investigating unrelated matters on March 14th and March 18th, 2015. The youth was found to be breaching his curfew, being in the company of someone he has conditions not to associate with, consuming alcohol and failing to abide by house rules. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Steven Johnson, 29 of Akwesasne was arrested on March17th, 2015 and charged with breach of recognizance for having a cellular phone in his possession. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 17th, 2015 the man was found to be in possession of a cellular phone at the port of entry despite being on condition not to be in possession of any communication devices. Police attended, took the man into custody, charged him accordingly and held him for a bail hearing.
