The Price Isn’t Right as Habs Miss Another Chance To Move Past Sens by Jamie Gilcig – April 25, 2015

Jamie & FitzyCFN – The Habs have gone from being up 3 games to 0 to now seeing a potential upset in the making.

Montreal will have two more chances to finish off the Ottawa Senators, but that word “Character” keeps leaking forward.

Carey Price had a Hall of Fame regular season, but has certainly not stolen any games in this first round of the play offs.

Ottawa to their credit played their game.  50 hits were recorded against Montreal with Zack Smith notching 10 on the night.

Montreal will have to stop messing around and deliver a win if they have any hope to not only move forward, but to go some distance in the series.     It’s interesting that Sergei Gonchar was not brought in and that Greg Pateryn was.  Maybe the team needs that extra veteran play off presence if Gonchar has recovered from his concussion?

In the Game ™ for Montreal:  Prust, Plekanec, Smith Pelly, Weise, De La Rose, Petry, Galchenyuk, Flynn, Pacioretty, Subban, Gilbert, Markov, Subban.   For Ottawa: Methot, Ryan, Turris, Smith, Lazar, Pageau, Gryba, Karlsson, Borowiecki, and Chaisson.

In other games the Rangers put Pittsburgh out of its misery for the season.   The Penguins barely made the play offs this season which they sort of deserve for hiring Jim Rutherford after what he did for the Hurricanes.

Washington has a chance to put away the Islanders tonight.  Chicago can finish off Nashville who have lost Shea Weber for the duration, and Calgary can move past the Canucks.
