Kitchener Male Charged With Attempted Murder in Kingston Stabbing – MAY 25, 2015 #KPS

A 50-year-old Kitchener male has been arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault after a stabbing victim was found at a local convenience store.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 25 Uniform Patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Division Street and Stephen Street where the male 55-year-old Kingston victim was located with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to hospital with serious injuries but police were later advised he is expected to recover.

Police were able to trace the victim’s steps back to an apartment complex on Joseph Street where a crime scene was established in one of the residences. The accused was also located on scene and quickly arrested that same morning.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are requesting a search warrant to enter the apartment to seize any potential evidence or weapons that may be found within. Uniform Patrol officers continue to maintain continuity of the scene until the search warrant is executed.

The accused was transported to the police station and will be held overnight in cells to attend a bail hearing the following day.
