Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 1st, 2015 and charged with break and enter and theft under $5000. It is alleged that on April 30th, 2015 the man entered his ex-girlfriend’s house and removed property that did not belong to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 1st, 2015 during their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Sylvain Legault, 52 of Cornwall was arrested on May 2nd, 2015 and charged with breaching his undertaking for communicating with someone he has conditions not to communicate with and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on May 2nd, 2015 the man communicated with a 28-year-old woman known to him despite being on conditions not to communicate with her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Richard Sawatis was arrested on May 3rd, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that in August, 2014 the man identified himself as someone else to police during an investigation and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 3rd, 2015 the man was spotted walking on Second Street by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on June 16th, 2015.

 

THREATS, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 3rd, 2015 and charged with threats to life and breach of probation and undertaking for being in the company of someone he has conditions not to associate with if he’s been drinking. It is alleged that during an argument on May 3rd, 2015 the man threatened to kill an 18-year-old woman known to him and her son. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was also found to be breaching his conditions for being in the company of someone he has conditions not to associate with if he’s been drinking. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.

 

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 3rd, 2015 and charged with assault with a weapon and threats to life. It is alleged that on May 3rd, 2015 the youth threatened to stab two youths while brandishing a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

THEFT UNDER $5000

 

Cornwall, ON – Robert Patenaude, 51of Cornwall was arrested on May 3rd, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on May 3rd, 2015 the man attended a Ninth Street store and removed merchandise making no attempt to pay for it as he left the store. He was stopped by the Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Kayle Gumbly, 25 of Alexandria was arrested on April 30th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on October 16th, 2013 the man failed to attend court for breach charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 30th, 2015 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse to execute the warrant as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. He remained in custody for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man both of Cornwall were arrested on April 30th, 2015 and charged with breaching their probation orders for being in each other’s company while under the influence of alcohol. On April 30th, 2015 Cornwall Police were contacted to investigate a disturbance at a Larin Street address and on arrival found the occupants to be breaching their conditions. They were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. Their names were not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident.

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Angel Dore, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on April 29th, 2015 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on April 9th, 2015 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On April 29th, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED DRIVERS CHARGED

(North Glengarry) – On May 2, 2015 at approximately 8:31pm, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a motorcycle on Valance Road, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Darcy POIRIER (50) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Drive Without Proper Headlights – Motorcycle (Highway Traffic Act)
– Fail to Wear Proper Helmet on Motorcycle (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 10, 2015 for the above noted criminal charges.
(North Stormont) – On May 3, 2015 at approximately 5:38pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on McLean Road, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Jean-Marie SEGUIN (66) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 28, 2015.

 

DRUGS SEIZED

(South Glengarry) – On May 2, 2015 at approximately 9:44pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle at a property off of County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. Further information also revealed the adult male driver was in contravention of a condition imposed from a previous incident.

Michael HARDING (30) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 10, 2015.
(South Glengarry) – On May 2, 2015 at approximately 10:56pm, SD&G OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driver Everywhere (RIDE) checks at the intersection of Purcell Road and Tyotown Road, South Glengarry Township. A check of a vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana. Further information also revealed that the two occupants were in contravention of a condition imposed from a previous incident.

The female driver, Patricia DUNKLEY (43) of South Glengarry Township and passenger Paul ST-LOUIS (55) of Cornwall, Ontario were arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on June 10, 2015.

 

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(North Glengarry) – On May 2, 2015 at approximately 4:00pm, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Tobin Street, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult female and her ex-spouse resulted in the female causing damage to his vehicle.

The 22-year-old female from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Mischief Under $5000

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 28, 2015. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

 

THEFT OF PICK-UP TRUCK

(South Stormont) – On May 2, 2015 at approximately 9:06pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of the theft of a pick-up truck from a business property on South Branch Road, South

Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a 2009 Dodge Laramie 4×4, 4-door grey pick-up truck was stolen from the lot. A suspect was observed and is described as; Caucasian, 6’0’’, 180-190bs, grey hair, clean shaven, wearing dark pants, a heavy black coat and dark hat. The vehicle was last seen heading west on Cornwall Centre Road.

An investigation continues.

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Glengarry) – Over the past weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– May 1, 2015 – 9:52am; vehicle stopped travelling 154km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (36) from Brossard, Quebec charged accordingly.

– May 1, 2015 – 10:11pm; vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (19) from Toronto, Ontario charged accordingly.

– May 2, 2015 – 4:10am; vehicle stopped travelling 163km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (32) from East York, Ontario charged accordingly.

– May 2, 2015 – 8:22pm; vehicle stopped travelling 151km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (23) from Montreal, Quebec charged accordingly.

– May 3, 2015 – 7:35pm; vehicle stopped travelling 159km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (42) from Montreal, Quebec charged accordingly.

ROJECT PARADIGM IS A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TEAM COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

(Limoges) On May 2nd 2015, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Project Paradigm executed a Search Warrant in the town of Limoges, the result of an investigation by the Russell OPP Community Drug Action Team.

Investigators seized 148 cannabis marihuana plants with an estimated street value of 50 000$, a quantity of dry cannabis marihuana and cannabis marihuana grow equipment.

Honor Driscoll (31) from Limoges, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Honor DRISCOLL- Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)
  • Honor DRISCOLL- Produce a schedule 2 substance (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)

Marcel BISSONNETTE (50) from Limoges, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Marcel BISSONNETTE- Possession of a substance in Schedule 2 (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 4(1)
  • Marcel BISSONNETTE- Produce a schedule 2 substance (cannabis marihuana) C.D.S.A. Section 7(1)

The accused were released on a promise to appear and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice of Ontario in L’Orignal, (ON) on June 24th 2015.

(RUSSELL COUNTY, ON) In the week of April 27, 2015 to May 4, 2015, Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 211 occurrences. Among those occurrences OPP responded to 11 collisions, 5 thefts, 5 domestics and 2 impaired drivers.

As a result of those occurrences, 41 people were charged with various offences.

Impaired

(Embrun, ON)  On April 28, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a traffic complaint on Notre-Dame Street in Embrun. The officers later located the vehicle on St-Marie Road. They spoke to the female driver and noticed a smell of alcohol. The female supplied a breath sample into the Roadside Screening Device. The result was an “f” for fail. She was transported to the OPP detachment were she supplied more breath samples into the Intoxilyzer.  The results exceeded the legal limit.

Lisa M.L. MAYS, 38 years old from Embrun, will have to appear in L’Orignal court on May 20, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 253(1)(a) Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol)

CC 253(1)(b) Care or Control Over 80 mgs.

 

Impaired

(Casselman, ON)  On April 30, 2015 OPP Constables responded to traffic hazard complaint on Highway 417 near Casselman. At that location some motorists reported that a vehicle was stopped on the roadway putting other drivers at risk. The officers attended the location a located the vehicle on the road. They approached the vehicle to find a male sleeping at the wheel. When speaking to the male they noticed a strong smell of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment were he supplied some breath samples. The results exceeded the legal limit permitted.

Michel. BOUASRIA, 60 years old from Verdun, Quebec will have to appear in L’Orignal court on May 20, 2015 to answer to the following charges:

CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired- motor vehicle (Alcohol)

CC 249(1)(a) Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

CC 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood

Breach of Conditions

(Bourget, ON)  On April 30, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a landlord and tenant dispute on Champlain Street in Bourget. At that location an intoxicated male complained of losing his apartment. The officers checked that male on their police computer and realized that the intoxicated male was breaching a release condition.

Richard, J. MASSIA, 25 years old from Bourget, will have to appear in L’Orignal court on April 29, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 145(5.1) Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge

He was also issued a provincial offence notice for the following offence:

LLA 31(4) Being intoxicated in public place

Breach of Conditions

(Rockland, ON)   On May 2, 2015 OPP Constable Stephane Roy stopped a vehicle on County Road 17 at Rollin Road for speeding. The officer checked the driver on the police computer and discovered that the male driver was breaching a non-communication condition with the vehicle passenger.

A 30 year old male, From Alfred-Plantagenet will have to appear in L’Orignal court on May 27, 2015 to answer to the following charge:

CC 733.1(1) Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was also issued a provincial offence notice for Speeding.

Mischief

(Limoges, ON)  On May 3, 2015 OPP Constables responded to a domestic related incident on Mabel Street in Limoges. At that location a female reported that her partner had forced his way into the house even after being told he was not welcomed. The door was damaged and would not work properly.

A 54 year old male, from Limoges will have to appear in L’Orignal court on May 20, 2015 to answer to the following offence:

MAN CHARGED FOR UTTERING THREATS

(South Dundas) – On May 1, 2015 at approximately 11:17am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of threat incidents at business locations in the Villages of Iroquois and Morrisburg, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had uttered threats towards employees.

Larry AUMELL (64) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Utter Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

YOUTH BREACHES CONDITION

(North Glengarry) – On April 30, 2015 at approximately 10:38pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a male youth in breach of a condition (curfew) imposed from a previous incident. Upon arrest, he became aggressive with officers.

The 13-year-old male is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with a Condition of an Undertaking
– Resist Peace Officer

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (01May15). His name is being withheld as per guidelines of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

WARRANT EXECUTED

(South Glengarry) – On April 30, 2015 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Project Paradigm and members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in South Glengarry Township. This resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana bud, cannabis resin, MDMA (amphetamine derivative), cocaine and assorted production equipment used to make cannabis resin. Officers also seized a collapsible baton and mace.

Matthew BEEHLER (22), of South Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)

– Production of a Controlled Substance

–  Possession of a Controlled Substance

– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapons (2 counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice of Ontario in Cornwall on June 11, 2015.

DRUGS SEIZED/BREACHED CONDITIONS

(South Stormont) – On April 29, 2015 at approximately 11:01am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers on patrol observed a disturbance involving an adult male on County Road 2, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that the man was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident. During his arrest, quantities of suspected hydro-morphone capsules were seized.

Patrick BEAUPRE (23) of South Stormont Township is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (April 30, 2015).

PROJECT PARADIGM IS A DRUG ENFORCEMENT TEAM COMPRISED OF OFFICERS FROM THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT AND OPP DETACHMENTS IN EASTERN ONTARIO

(Hawkesbury, ON) On April 23rd, 2015, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Hawkesbury Community Drug Action Team executed a Search Warrant in the village of Plantagenet, resulting in the seizure of cannabis marijuana and contraband cigarettes.

Paul STEELE (69 yrs) of Plantagenet was arrested and charged with the following:

·                       Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking  C.D.S.A. Section 5(2)

·                       Fail to comply with conditions of Undertaking given by officer in charge. C.C. 145(5.1)

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, L’Orignal, on April 24th 2015.

ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On April 22, 2015 at approximately 8:31am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault at a long term health care facility located in South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a female employee had assaulted a resident.

The 54-year-old female from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 2, 2015.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Stormont) – On April 23, 2015 at approximately 1:55pm, an OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer intercepted a commercial motor vehicle on Labrosse Street, North Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Robert MACLELLAN (54) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on May 15, 2015.

 

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(North Glengarry) – On April 23, 2015 at approximately 11:36pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male involved was in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.

Corey HELLIKER (28) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (5 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (April 24, 2015).
BREAK-IN/THEFT

(North Dundas) – Overnight April 21-22, 2015, a residence located on York Street, North Dundas Township was entered. Inside, a quantity of cash and personal documents were stolen.
